FALLBROOK – On Aug. 7, Fallbrook celebrated the official chartering of a new club – Fallbrook Village Toastmasters, one of the newest clubs organized by Toastmasters International.

An official club charter plaque was presented to the club by Ed Gain, immediate past District 5 governor. Gain presented individual charter member certificates to each of the founding members of the club. Fewer than one-half of one percent of Toastmasters can claim the honor of being charter members of their club.

The new officers of Fallbrook Village Toastmasters were inducted by Mark Rauschenberg, current District 5 governor. The new officers are: Rich Hamilton, president; Carole Hodges, VP education; Kris McCullough, VP membership; Lori Harlan, VP public relations; Rebecca Eastom, secretary; Peggy Mincey, treasurer; and Paul Schumann, sergeant at arms.

Other dignitaries of Toastmasters International in attendance were Joyce Percichili, District 5 lt. governor of education; Alex Shadpour, Northern Division governor; and Robin Fuqua, Northern Division Area 3 governor.

Mark Rauschenberg also presented the award for Distinguished Toastmaster to Carole Hodges, sponsor of the Fallbrook Village Toastmasters. The Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award is awarded to only one percent of those who become Toastmasters. Carole Hodges completed her DTM after 10 years of fulfilling the requirements.

Fallbrook Village Toastmasters is a community club open to adults 18 and over who want to improve their public speaking and leadership skills. The club meets on Thursday evenings at 6:45 p.m. at the Crestview Estates community room, 1020 E. Mission Road, Fallbrook. Guests are always welcome to visit. For additional information, call (760) 695-4127.
