The Sheriff's Dept. issued a call for help from the public today (Thurs., July 31) to assist in identifying a woman who was the victim of what is now a cold case homicide.

"San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Detail continue to look for leads to help identify Jane Doe," authorities said. "On October 1, 1986, the decomposed body of a female was discovered over an embankment at the 4.5 mile marker of Old Temecula Road on the Pala Indian Reservation. The cause of death could not be determined."

"Jane Doe was described as a white female between 18- and 20-years-old. She was found wearing a white sweater, blue and white striped pants and white boots."

"Jane Doe had the following tattoos: a red rose above her right breast, a red heart on her inner left breast, a butterfly on her upper right buttocks, a swastika on her right buttocks, a motorcycle wheel with wing and the letters "H & D" on the left buttocks, a red lightning bolt on her right groin, the words "Lovin' Stuff" on her left hip/groin area, and a continuous series of flower-like tattoos encircling her left wrist."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail at (858) 974-2321 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent via
