Murrieta Mayor Alan Long stood in solidarity with other city and local officials at a press conference Monday addressing the arrival and their disapproval of undocumented immigrants beginning Tuesday.

Through the month of June the city and local Border Patrol were told the detainees from Texas would be heading in droves to the community but three times the plans were rescinded…until Friday, June 27.

Late last week officials from the Customs Border Patrol informed the San Diego and Murrieta stations detainees from Texas will arrive on Tuesday in San Diego.

Long said the Murrieta Border Patrol Station on Madison Ave. will receive 140 partially processed illegal immigrants every 72 hours for possibly weeks for further processing.

"This is the result of the failure of federal government enforcing the federal law at the federal level," said Long. "We deport illegals we don’t disperse them across the country."

At the beginning of June, the city was told they could receive 500 detainees at once resulting in local law enforcement stepping in and educating Customs Border Patrol Agents about the risk to public safety.

Long said at the press conference the city will be safe and they remain firmly against the processing of illegal detainees in their community. He referenced the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) Section 212(a) (6) (A), which limits the ability of illegal entrants to be admitted to the country.

"We are tracking the expense this is having on our city and maybe we should send the bill to President Obama," said Long in an interview after the press conference. President Barack Obama also gave a press conference on the illegal immigration situation Monday asking for more than two billion dollars in funding to fight what he calls a humanitarian crisis.

This current threat to our national borders and security is fueled by coyotes in Central America who advertise according to Long for up to $2,000 a head for a pathway to citizenship in America.

"How we are currently handling illegal immigration as a country is showing those in Central America the coyotes are telling the truth, their kids and family members are finding a way to stay," said Long.

Long said he was told the detainees who are expected to arrive by 3 p.m. Tuesday will be families either a mother or father with children no criminals or unaccompanied children.

Supervisor Jeff Stone worked with the Country of Riverside’s Health Department to provide a health mobile so border agents can provide more health screenings if needed.

"The undocumented immigrants will not be released into our community, they will be transported across the country to awaiting family and friends," said Long.

Community activist Diana Serafin spoke at the conference claiming she heard the detainees were already in Murrieta.

"I am not spewing lies but they are here right now," said Serafin.

Long reported he investigated Serafin’s allegations and visited the Murrieta Border Patrol Station and found no one was being processed. Long encouraged the public to not spread rumors.

Watch Valley News and myvalleynews.com for updates.

Murrieta’s local government will be sending updates to local residents via the website (www.murrieta.org) and through social media. A Town Hall meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Wednesday at Murrieta Mesa High School in Murrieta. The public can call (951) 837-4343 to get updated information about the transfer of the immigrants to Murrieta. The public can also send an email to Immigration@murrieta.org for more info.

"We need to collaborate as a region and take our demand for change to Washington D.C. I cannot make a change as one single Mayor. We need to collaborate with a clear and concise message that we are not going to stand for our countries laws to be violated," said Long.

MURRIETA - Murrieta’s Border Patrol Station is bracing for an influx of undocumented immigrants to arrive on Tuesday. Many of the detainees will be unaccompanied minors who have surged across Advertisement

the United States borders into Texas and Arizona.

According to reports from the Customs Border Patrol 52,000 people have crossed the border illegally by mid-June this fiscal year with three quarters migrating from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.

The Murrieta station on Madison Ave. is reportedly not equipped to handle hundreds of people at once.

Local law enforcement, city and state leaders have been educating officials with Customs Border Patrol on the limited resources available and the risks involving public safety.

"We don’t have the infrastructure and support to handle hundreds of illegal immigrants," said Murrieta’s Police Captain Rob Firmes. "It would make them transients."

Lt. Ron Driscoll from Murrieta’s Police Department said in an interview today detainees would not roam the streets of local communities.

"It is my understanding the undocumented immigrants will be processed here and then transported by Greyhound or to local airports to be united with family members across the country," said Driscoll.

The decision to have detainees of various ages and genders processed in San Diego and Murrieta was rescinded three times in June.

Groups of undocumented children and adults are scheduled to arrive Tuesday in Murrieta every 72 hours from south Texas, where a massive influx of Central Americans crossing the border has created what President Barack Obama has described as a "humanitarian crisis." Many of the migrants are unaccompanied children.

San Diego Border Patrol Agent Timothy Hamill said the term processing means, a detainee is fingerprinted and their background is checked.

According to a statement by Hamill, "Once the family groups arrive in the sector, CBP will assist with processing the apprehended immigrants by interviewing and processing them for removal. At which point, the family groups will be transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), where appropriate custody determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis, prioritizing national security and public safety."

The surge of unaccompanied minors is fueled by false rumors that minors and women with young children will be welcomed.

Temecula’s Senior Management Analyst, Betsy Lowrey, said city officials have been in communications with Congressional representatives and Murrieta officials to determine accurate information regarding Border Patrol plans for transporting/processing illegal immigrants at the Murrieta Border Patrol Station.

Lowery reported Congressman Ken Calvert’s Communication Director also received information from the CBP office in San Diego Monday, June 23.

Rep. Calvert addressed his outrage with a statement in response to an announcement by Paul Beeson, chief of the Border Patrol's San Diego Sector, that detained illegal immigrants from Central America will likely be processed at the Murrieta Border Patrol Station this week.

Calvert questions in the press release how taxpayer’s money is being used to fly undocumented children around the country, "My constituents expect our federal government to enforce our laws, including the deportation of illegal immigrants caught crossing our borders. On Monday morning, I will be contacting Customs and Border Patrol to convey my strong opposition to their actions and to express the concerns of my constituents in Murrieta and the surrounding communities. Instead of flying these illegal immigrants to southern California, we should be flying them back to their country of origin."

Earlier in June, Rep. Calvert signed on as a cosponsor to H.Res. 442, the Stop This Overreaching Presidency Resolution, which directs the House to institute legal action to require the President to comply with immigration laws.

Marie Waldron who represents California's 75th Assembly District, which stretches from Temecula to San Marcos, and includes the communities of Bonsall, Escondido, Fallbrook, Hidden Meadows, Rainbow, Valley Center, and Vista accuses the federal government in being derelict in its duty to the people of the United States through its failure to secure the borders.

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson released a statement last week, "Our strategy is three-fold: (1) process the increased tide of unaccompanied children through the system as quickly as possible; (2) stem the increased tide of illegal migration into the Rio Grande Valley; and (3) do these things in a manner consistent with our laws and values as Americans."

Hamill reported today the movement of detainees would allow the U.S. Border Patrol in less congested areas to assist in processing family units from South Texas where they are seeing an influx of migrants crossing the border. The transfer of immigrants between Border Patrol sectors occurs on a regular basis to allow CBP to manage flows and processing capability.

I'm in total agreement with Rep. Calvert. This is just a new way for willful, illegal immigration to run rampant across our border states. Using our compassion for children, knowing we wouldn't turn around and return them back to their country of origin. Mom and Dad won't be far behind the kids, I think. When will we elect a President who will enforce the laws, secure the borders and take this problem seriously?

I agree with the one man who asked why we should go through all this trouble. Send planes back and forth to the major cities in Mexico and South America. The right people get on the right planes to THEIR HOME, not OURS if they are here ILLEGALY which everyone tends to keep forgetting here. Every government official or others are aiding and abetting individuals (who are criminals to the worse degree in my opinion) and also need to be impeached, and tossed in jail. We would have been in jail now if it were us. As a matter a fact if we are letting them into the States so easy I think I will go and make a few bucks each day and use my big suburban back and forth across the border. No one is going to stop me cause I am not Obama or Hilary right? Now that would be prejudiced!!! I certainly would not be doing anything illegal now would I? If every citizen wants these people sent back to their own countries then why are we letting the government get away with bringing them in by the thousands each day? Why are we allowing it? Can we not stand up for ourselves? Are we that beaten down?

Why bother to have the border patrol stops on the 5 and 15 if the government is going to ship all the new illegal aliens crossing the border into Texas and other parts of the country? Illegal is illegal no matter what country they are coming from.

We can't afford to feed and shelter our own legal homeless, but we find the money to transport, feed, clothe and shelter new illegal immigrants.

I think the next thing to happen will be us hearing from the Mexican consulate saying the government is discriminating against their citizens because they are deported if they cross the border but the central American illegals are welcomed and assisted.

They need to be shipped back to where they came from. Mexico needs to be held responsible to a point, for fast tracking them through Mexico and into the US. It is time to start caning here in the US. There is basically no deterrent. The kids just laugh at our law enforcement officials, knowing there is nothing they can do to them. Illegals, kids or adults, are not good for our Country. We pay enough taxes as it is, the illegals usually do not pay any.

While at a rally in Murrieta today, a Border Agent came over to our group to share with us what is happening at the borders in California. The Border Agents will no longer be required to search for drugs, they are only to process all the illegal aliens being brought from the border and being dropped off at the local cities. This will continue every 3 days until the influx of people coming over stops.

"The compromised border spotlights not only the unchecked passage of illegal aliens including thousands of children, but also the unrestrained movement of violent drug dealers and other criminals, including those who deal in human trafficking."(by Voice of Reason)

The cities mentioned were Murrieta, Riverside and the last city mentioned, where they will be dropping these illegal aliens... will be San Bernardino. He explained how the process will work; the illegal aliens will be brought from the border to the city by bus, then fingerprinted and the information will be put in the databases, then they will be turned over to ICE. ICE will then instruct them, when “they” reach their destination city, i.e. Temecula, Costa Mesa, Rancho Cucamonga, Corona, Irvine, Huntington Beach…etc., they are to check back with ICE in that city location and ICE will give them a date to appear in court.

Some of these illegal aliens have traveled not just from Mexico but from South America…..and with them, they bring their diseases…remember those countries do not require immunization for their children. The clothing they left their country in, are the same clothing they are wearing while being processed. No showers or bathing has been done. Our Border Agents have been instructed they are not to feed, clothe or shower these illegals, only to process and then turn them out into the cities.

“This is not a humanitarian crisis,” the National Association of Border Patrol Officers said earlier this month. “It is a predictable, orchestrated and contrived assault on the compassionate side of Americans by her political leaders that knowingly puts minor illegal alien children at risk for purely political purposes.”

I recently read an ad on Craiglist, asking for people to foster some of these illegal alien children coming over, which means, they can apply for State Aid and guess who will be paying the bill…the taxpayer…you and me. On June 18th, Texas Governor Rick Perry agreed to give the Texas Dept. of Public Safety an additional $1.3 Million per week to stem the tide of illegal aliens flooding into Texas. California CANNOT afford to do the same…...

PLEASE…..
I urge you to contact your Congressman, go to your City Council meetings…call your Assemblyman…tell them to STOP THIS!

"The surge of unaccompanied minors is fueled by false rumors that minors and women with young children will be welcomed." I'd bet my bottom dollar that these "false rumors" were started intentially by somebody in our government. When our government finally pushes their immigration reform down out throats, expect this to get ten times worse.

Sure, they broke laws, but these are children. Any parent that would send their child unescorted to to a foreign land should lose the right to be a parent. I would not go to Murrieta to protest the wrongs our federal govt made with this, especially because I am hearing our president knew they were coming...I would go to adopt one or two (if siblings) and give them a fighting chance in life. Our government is a shame!!!

Almost everyone seems to think that we need to solve the problem of the children of illegal immigrants because these children are here “through no fault of their own.” Do people who say that have any idea how many millions of children are living in dire poverty in India, Africa or other places “through no fault of their own,” and would be better off living in the United States? Do all children have some inherent right to live in America if they have done nothing wrong? If not, then why should the children of illegal immigrants have such a right?

When you import people, you import cultures, including cultures that have been far less successful in providing decent lives and decent livelihoods. The American people have a right to decide for themselves whether they want unlimited imports of cultures from other countries. OBAMA does not have the right to speak for us on this matter.

For all you pointing fingers at the Obama administration, please keep in mind the law that forces the BP to turn these kids over to HHS for protection and processing was signed by W in 2008 (the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act). Outrage, indignation, hatred at the crap our so called "elected representatives" are force feeding down our throats with illegals does not do justice to the true magnitude of their crimes. Having illegals shoved down our throats and then having our money pay for their needs is an abomination, an outrage. I see a huge landmark revolution coming in this country and woe unto those who enabled and encouraged these illegals to live in our midst.

It's called Treason. There are penalties still on the books for Treason. There are lots and lots of penalties for such unpardonable offenses. One of these days they will start being enforced again whether liberals like it or not. They will be in the docket answering for their crimes against the American penalty and will pay the price upon conviction

Letting in the children plays on our heart strings - we all look at them and see our children. BUT we have to look at the bigger picture. 1) Most are from Central America, Mexico is one of the hardest borders to cross, so how did they do it? I believe that there were assurances from the US that we would take the kids; else Mexico would have turned them away. 2) As others mentioned, poor kids reside in many countries, including ours. We have a limited amount of resources, when we spend them on Central American children we have to take away from our own poor. 3) As someone already pointed out, the contract was "let" about 7 months ago - this "surprise" was well planned. 4) Many of these children are closer to 18 than 8, don't speak English, have no skills, so what are we going to do with them? 5) Once the kid is here the family can come over much easier to "reunify" the family. Those that want them here , may I suggest you go across the border to Mexico, or to Honduras or other CA countries and look at the culture, the crime, the lack of education and decide "is this what I want my grandkids to grow up in?" IF you do, then do nothing, if however you would like them to grow up in a country resembling what we grew up in, then you must write you congress person and study their voting record, and if it is not in agreement with you - vote them out.

In my view there is a much more calculated reason the Obama Administration has decided to ignore the border problem and subjugate the laws. It has to do with control of the Government. Let me explain. Hispanic voters have overwhelmingly voted for Democratic candidates in the past which is part of the reason Obama is in the White House. The failure of the Republicans to take the White House has produced an arrogant attitude that wishes to maintain control of the White House and both houses of Congress to ensure the Republicans never win another election. What does this have to do with illegal immigration you ask? Very simple, If an overwhelming number of illegals are allowed to stay in the country, their gratitude will be expressed at the voting polls ensuring another victory for the Democratic Party. Thus the illegal immigrants in the country today are future democratic voters of tomorrow. We need to ask ourselves how well our country will function if one party is rendered irrelevant and we succumb to a one-party government.

On December 23, 2008, President Bush signed into law the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008, that enhanced measures to combat HUMAN TRAFFICKING. The legislation enacted was in keeping with the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005 (which amended the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000) to direct the United States Agency for International Development, the Department of State, and the Department of Defense to incorporate anti-trafficking and protection measures for vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, into their post-conflict and humanitarian emergency assistance and program activities. This act did NOT mean it was ok, to dump kids in the United States.

These illegals are NOT part of a human trafficking issue. They were sent here by their parents for a better life. Yes, I feel sorry for them, but no...I don't think they should stay here. Process them and send them back home. This is an issue of a border that is wide open to anyone that wants to get in, because our current President refuses to secure our borders.

MOTHERS ATTENTION ! ! ---- Be afraid, very, very afraid. Tens of thousands of disease ridden children are bringing highly contagious, incurable tuberculosis, also measles, diphtheria, scabies, lice, chicken pox and H1N1 swine flu to a school near you. They are now being transported and spread throughout the homeland, whereupon they will be released into the general population with no tracking whatsoever. If your child starts coughing up blood, has an extremely high fever or breaks out in a blistering rash get them to a doctor immediately. I keep hearing they are children, they have no criminal record. I say, in time they will! It is safe to say that when these kids turn about 14-17 years old, they will be out in the streets doing wrong. They are being raised by illiterate moms who are afraid to exact any discipline and who dont speak English. That child is going to be in paradise, running around with no regard or respect for the law or their illiterate mom whose only goal was to have a baby...not RAISE it! Any naysayers must have not gotten a good look at the graffiti written on ANY private or city property, or seen these immigrant families in stores with their children bouncing beach balls and touching everything in sight! Loud music, dirty households busting to the rafters with more illegal extended family members, and the big prize, FREE SOCIAL SERVICES! To the politicians I say, lets switch. Ill live in your clean secluded gated community, and since you dont see nothing wrong with this big mess crossing the borders, YOU can live in my apartment overlooking the gang signs spray painted on the sidewalk, courtesy of illegal teenagers who were once just children, with no criminal record.

No nation can absorb unlimited numbers of people from another culture without jeopardizing its own culture. In the 19th and early 20th century, America could absorb millions of immigrants who came here to become Americans. But the situation is entirely different today, when group separatism, resentment and polarization are being promoted by both the education system and politicians.
We are importing many foreigners who stay foreign, if not hostile. Blithely turning them into citizens by fiat, rather than because they have committed to the American way of life, is an irreversible decision that can easily turn out to be a dangerous gamble with the future of the whole society. The Mexican flags and the strident assertions of a right to violate American laws are a clear and present danger signal to this society.

Ok if the parents are sending them over here. We should be allowed to sponsor them we would give the government a set amount of money to cover any school or other costs. and in return we get to use them in the grove or on the farm or plantation. until they work off the debt and learn the language. and assimilate. Or maybe just go pay their parents for them. That way it would help out the economy of their home country. Just a thought

I am disappointed to return home from college to find the city of Murrieta, the city of my high school, on national news for stopping buses of immigrants from entering town. Many of those on the buses were immigrant children, some in need of medical care. Protestors filled the streets, people fought, people yelled in each other’s faces and pushed and shoved using the American flag as a weapon. The kindhearted city I once called home has become unrecognizable. My heart is filled with sadness. We are all undeniably human with undeniable human needs, including the right to popular and advanced medical treatment. Murrieta was a wonderful place to grow up, and it is where I learned tolerance and love for all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. The world is changing quickly- my generation happens to be much more accepting. Yet there is still a deep rooted hypocrisy. The American people and government invade and force themselves and their beliefs onto the Middle East for example. Our justification is that we are helping and aiding people in need. We spend billions overseas providing better lives for some and destroying the lives of others. We remain in wars to protect and defend foreigners we call allies. However the community of Murrieta and I’m sure many others are unwilling to open their hearts, minds, and neighborhoods to immigrants in search of a better life; Some in search of basic human needs; Children hoping someone will care enough to provide the medical care they desperately need. My best friend, an amazing man, fought and died in a foreign country to defend and protect the rights of those foreigners. It was in Murrieta where we learned tolerance and love for all human beings. He gave his life believing in the importance of bridging the cultural gap and uniting different peoples. His tolerance of humans of all origins allowed him to dedicate his life to making the world a better place. Yet here at home where Latin Americans risk their lives to cross a deadly desert, some losing their lives or loved ones on the journey, to come here to receive basic human rights that America claims to believe in and was founded on, we turn them away claiming its all political. Those people, women and children, did not come here for politics or to be claimed as a political stunt…they came because their lives depended on it. No one would cross a desert and risk their life unless they were out of options and hope. Their last hope at survival and a better life (which we all have the right to pursue) was to come to our great country…made not so great by our persistent intolerance. I do not care what your political views are and neither do the immigrants…all they can hope for is that we will be loving and understanding of their last effort at survival and provide them with basic human needs and rights. Rights that we defend for many Middle Eastern peoples who are not standing on American soil asking for help. These immigrants are here, standing on American soil, begging for help and our community has reacted by being intolerant and rejecting them. I am so offended and disappointed in my hometown…intolerance is not the future of a strong America.

For anyone smart enough to get past the rhetoric, the value of cheap agricultural labor is essentially zilch. Mechanization of the harvesting process at much lower costs has been put off because of the use of illegal labor. Once we clear these folks out and implement sound and efficient non labor harvesting practices, not only will the consumer benefit with lower produce costs, but the nation won't have to subsidize the illegal's being here.

Residents of Murrieta, California succeeded in turning away three bus-loads of immigration detainees from being processed at the border patrol station in the Southern California city with shouts of “Go home,” while waving American flags in a disgraceful display of intolerance and xenophobia only days before the celebration of one of the great celebrations of American liberty and ideals: the 4th of July. There is a statue in New York harbor of a lady with a torch, lighting the way toward what the poet, Emma Lazarus called, a “world-wide welcome,” and a “golden door.” It reads, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me.” Maybe it’s time to tear down this statue, or perhaps change the poet’s lines to reflect the new American dream to the words of one of Murrieta’s councilman, Rick Gibbs -- “We do not have the facilities to feed and clothe people for an extended stay.” Shame on the people of Murrieta who participated in this travesty, shame on them.

Oh nothing, they just don't wanna see little kids getting a break from rough beginnings. huh? Yeah, they were just going to be detained here, but no. The mayor and all his followers said NOPE. Now these kids are probably still on a bus, wondering what the heck is going on, and asking themselves why these people disliked them so much. In murrieta alone, how many people from foreign countries do you think reside there? How many are your friends? How many have gave you a hand? How many are you willing to forgive?

Don't disguise them as 'kidding around'. So far - you want to take bikers out so they'll learn, you want child molesters to "get" to these unaccompanied minors (maybe that will change their minds of coming to the US - nice), and now you want to make them slave them in groves or plantations or just go pay their parents for them. Just come out say these are your real feelings already, and you are not "kidding".

The Obama Administration is committing Human Trafficking, using children as political pawns and confining them in wretched conditions. If one of us did what they are doing now, he/she would be going to prison for many years.

The government is transporting illegal immigrants all over the country. If one of us did that, he/she would be going to prison for many years.

The Plan was to fundamentally transform America. Look around, folks. It's happening now. The Progressives are building their Dependent Underclass which they will use to destroy the Middle Class with more and more tax burdens. The rich and Ruling Class gets richer, the Middle Class shrinks to nothing and eventually everyone will be dependent and vote Democrat.

Many of these kids are running from violence created by our failed war on drugs. Many others are here because corporations like Monsanto have come in and bought up all of the family farms and pushed people off their lands. And when I say bought, I don't mean the land owner was given a fair price. More like they paid the government to push people off.

So for all of you haters complaining about these illegals, maybe if you stopped complaining and actually got involved and put a stop to corporations like Monsanto we wouldn't have these problems. For every action there is a reaction. You what cheaper groceries? You want to buy peaches in winter? Well the price for that is more illegals. Either way you are going to pay.

Innocent children who probably don't want to be here either, who are alone, and have already endured who knows what. When are others pain greater than your hate?? It is not an American right to not have to deal with other people who make you uncomfortable. It is by the grace of god or luck of the draw (if you don't believe in a higher power) that you were born into the life you were born into and the country you are in. There are horrible things happening world wide that thankfully we have not had to experience. If it were you, you would probably try the same, if you are a motivated person. This will go down in the history books and there will be a future generation learning about you, how would you like to be remembered? Would you like to be compared to the protestors spitting and throwing rocks at the Little Rock nine, or as a progressive people fighting for a better world and change for others? I.E. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Freedom Riders. Just because something is illegal does not make it wrong. Laws and morality are not mutually exclusive. It was once illegal for a black man to ride at the front of a bus, or own land, or marry out of their race. Many of the opposition used the same excuses and reasons as you do today. This is how you spend the great life and opportunities you have been given? What a shame of a life.

It has been alleged in several news sources that Murrieta Mayor Alan Long and the Murrieta PD helped flame the mob scene by blocking and not clearing a path for the buses to enter a federal facility. Long then has the gall to say he'll bill Obama for the cost. The Feds just might bill the City of Murrieta for impeding the federal government and forcing the buses back to San Diego. In the national news, Murrieta is now depicted as the place of white outrage, hate and intolerance. Local Republicans are making a political circus out of the suffering of women and children. I guess that is now SOP for the GOP. Very sad for local politics and the local community.

Its amazing that pro open border folks don't have a grasp on economics. If we opened our borders to any and all that wanted to enter, we'd be overwhelmed and broke before Thanksgiving. It is basic economics that we can't afford to clothe and feed every person in the world who wants to come here. It is the hispanic racists and their supporters who would have you believe that we owe it to the North, Central and South Americans who are overwhelming us now to take them in and grant them amnesty. What about all of the Africans and Asians and Europeans who don't live close enough to overwhelm our borders? Shouldn't we provide vessels to bring them into our country as well, so that they can enjoy all that is America? As I watched the negative events unfolding in Murrieta this week, I was reminded of the mobs that met the Freedom Riders buses in the South in the early 1960s, and the hateful crowds that attempted to stop the integration of University of Alabama and Mississippi also in the early 1960s. It appalled me to see the hateful looks on the Murrieta protesters faces as they blocked the buses of these refugee children and mothers.

As residents of this area, is this what we want to portray to the rest of the country? I do not! We are all God's children. I pray that God will give us compassion and mercy, and we would treat others as we would wish to be treated.

It is the parents fault that he or she put those precious children in danger. They can protest in our country, but they cannot stand up for or protest in their own country. The reason we are getting an influx of border crossers is because we continue to house them. It is time to release them back into their own countries and then they can make the necessary changes there. Protect our people first, PERIOD!!!!!

The question is...Do you want to become a minority in your own country?...and how will it affect you?

We're all tired of the term "racist" being thrown around.....as if it has only to do with the color of one's skin. Maybe to some it has come down to that as a short way of attributing cultural differences. If you do not choose to live in the Northeast, the South, China, Switzerland, etc. because of cultural differences, would you choose to have whichever of those cultures you do not agree with become the majority in your city, state, country? It's happening now and if you've lived in Fallbrook for over 30 years, it does not take much vision to see how The Village has changed...do you like it?

If you move to another country, you are very much most likely going to be in the minority. If you find that the culture, the overall environment suits you, you may choose to stay there....but that country is not going to change drastically because of your presence. If a certain number of people, enough to be the predominant race or culture, moves there, the country will change. It will change in what the politicians say or do because they play to the largest voting block, it will change in what choices you are offered in food, in design of all types, because the producers play to the largest market. Many years ago, I read something about the Outlet Malls and how the same stores nearest the border will have clothing by the same designers....but the same designs at the Outlet Stores will be "shorter, tighter, brighter". There are cultural differences. If you move to another country and your culture does so in such numbers as to change the nature of the country you've moved to, do you expect the people there to be happy about it?

@Terri...How many refugees can we put down for you? Pick them up ASAP.

What? You're not taking any or donating to their cause? Typical..

@Fallbrook Joe

"Spreading lies and fear with "disease ridden children", what kind of human being are you? HINT: Small, scared and ugly. Shame on those who ignore their "Christian" values and rant about helping others as if it is a crime."

What "lies" are those Joe? I guess you missed the news of the lice & scabies as well as the 40 that are currently in the hospital with "unknown" diseases.

And for the record, not everyone is "Christian."

Politics does indeed make strange bedfellows...regardless of the rest of their platform, I will stand up and vote for the person who will tell me that he will close the border and deport those here illegally...and follow through on what he or she promises....but I doubt there is such a person, I think it would mean political suicide, it's already past the point of being able to do anything about it. Is there anger and hatred directed at any one race or nationality? I think the anger and hatred are directed at the situtation and the lying, powerless politicians who have let it get to this point due to either extreme short-sightedness or an agenda we are not aware of.

GROWING DRUG RESISTANCE

Common symptoms of TB are coughing with sputum and blood at times, chest pains, weakness, weight loss and fever. But the disease, which is transmitted through the air, can take years to develop, and it is also vital to test as early as possible to determine if a person has a drug-resistant form.

Of the 155,000 annual new cases of tuberculosis in the target countries, about 500 are multi-drug resistant (MDR-TB), caused by an extreme superbug form of the bacterium that does not respond to the most powerful first-line drugs.

The WHO estimates that 8.6 million people developed TB in 2012 and 1.3 million died. Some 450,000 fell ill with dangerous superbug strains in 2012, and up to 2 million people worldwide may be infected with drug-resistant TB by 2015, it says.

Standard treatment for TB usually includes a mix of four antibiotic drugs over a period of six months. MDR-TB can take 18 to 24 months to treat and cost up to $100,000 in rich countries.

SAN DIEGO - A Border Patrol agents union representative told 10News the influx of undocumented immigrants now in Border Patrol custody is threatening the health of agents as well as national security. Meanwhile, 40 were being quarantined at the Border Patrol Chula Vista Station with active scabies and head lice. The facility will provide them with showers, laundry service and bedding. Another 10 people, mostly children, were taken to local hospitals with unknown illnesses.

It takes 48 to 72 hours and a return visit to have a TB test injection site evaluated by a medically trained specialist to determine if TB test is positive. How many of this group have been "properly tested" ?

@Fed Up. They'd have my vote as well. This nonsense has got to stop.

I have no doubt that Obama knows EXACTLY what he's doing. This is his slimy way at getting amnesty jammed down our throats...again.

I've never before thought that "Impeachment" was called for...for any President...including Clinton.

But Obama feels he's no longer President...but Dictator. He picks&chooses what rules he wants to follow and to heck with the citizens.

Bill O'Reilly was on last night talking about how people here will get angry and there will be trouble between us and the illegals because of resentment, and people all over are talking about a "lack of compassion" already I wish to make myself clear and I hope others follow suit. I have no resentment against these people--the simple ordinary people on the bus. Just as I had no resentment to people who got the jobs we sent overseas. They are not the ones running the show. We all know that. People are being used. Just as there are some Union activists living very comfy lives while manipulating workers, some "immigrant" (illegal immigrant) activists are not the ones making the trek. I'm sick and tired of others saying Americans have no compassion and are full of hate. I hate no one. It's just a fact that we have laws, we have a border, and we have a right to make sure anyone who comes over is not a terrorist or a cartel member. I just read one article wherein a woman was horrified by the lack of compassion of the people in Murrietta and how she wanted to get to the people with water, etc. I now read where some of the people on the bus were sick. Suppose this woman met with those people and brought sickness home to her own children? We have to make it clear to everyone that we are not haters of people, but respecters of the law. It must be clear in all our actions going forward.

Kurt, as a "God-fearing man," I think you have every right to fear Him. Take a look at Matthew 25: " 41 "Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his demons! 42 For I was hungry, and you didn't feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn't give me anything to drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn't invite me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me no clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn't visit me.' 44 "Then they will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?' 45 And he will answer, 'I assure you, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.' "

All of you parents who don't believe in vaccinating your kids had better run out and get them started on their vaccines as fast as possible because of those diseases that were eradicated 60 to 100 years ago in the USA are being brought back over the border in record numbers!! Dyptheria, small pox, measles, scabies. You name it, it is is coming.

Nighthawk, you bring up many points. 1) “People fought…use the American flag as a weapon”. You are the only one to report this – much like people lied about tea party rallies. Why can’t the left tell the truth on these matters. 2) “Immigrant children, some in need of medical care” Why is it our responsibility as a state (meaning government) to care for the world? If only a small percentage of the people needing medical care were allowed to enter the US we would be economically a third world nation. Support “Doctors without borders” if you want, donate your pay check to WHO. 3) “Including the right to popular and advanced medical treatment” where did you see this, anywhere? You cannot invent rights. 4) “invade and force themselves and their beliefs onto the Middle East” has absolutely no relevance. You forgot that the people of the Mideast have been making war on us for a very longtime. 5) “unwilling to open their hearts, minds, and neighborhoods to immigrants in search of a better life” the US, as every country in the world, allows immigration the laws are SUPPOSED to allow a number of foreign born into the county to assimilate. The decision of foreigner’s desires to come here does not outweigh the American’s desire to maintain our country. 6) “He gave his life believing in the importance of bridging the cultural gap and uniting different peoples” as a multiple combat tour veteran, I can tell you either your friend was truly remarkable, or, more than likely he died protecting the Marine or solider on his flank. In either case, again of no relevance. 7) your final points concern the hand out – begging, asking. Again, it is not the job, nor the requirement of the US to meet the needs of the world. If they came here to get educated, get a job, strive to learn English and assimilate, put into the economy, maybe I would not have to answer your points; but by your own statements, they are here to TAKE. It is not intolerance to protect what is yours. To make ir simple, you have a house with x number of bedrooms and a kitchen, what if the homeless guy decides to break in – he just wants a bed, and then raids your larder because he is hungry? Doesn’t he have the basic rights to food and shelter?

To those that used the word "Xenophobia"; xenophobia is the irrational or unreasoned fear of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange. Please explain how these actions are irrational or unreasonable. to those that claim "intolerance", that has become the catch word for anyone that does not agree with the left/liberal party line, so has lost all meaning. To LR - same with you and "racist" any comment disagreeing with you is "racist" followed closely by "hater". You offer one example of a white spitting on a Mexican; shall I provide 100 examples of Mexican racism against whites for each of yours. And you are a big part of the problem - "my people" so you have no loyalty to the US? Then why in the world would anyone listen to you, since you place "race" (by the way, Mexican is a nationality, not a race) overall - hence the traditional meaning of racist.

And oh wait I forgot to say something also. Some of you people say yet shouldn't let illegals in. C'mon now their just kids. You guys make it seem like their frickin animals. No their human too. And also how some of you are saying that we should help the ones in need like the homeless. Well their the ones that got themselves in that. When have you ever seen a Mexican ask for money like those American people do out in the street with a sign. Never . If a Mexican needs money they work their a$$ off. But I'm done talking cause all of you are ignorant and annoying. I said what I thought Should be said. And I honestly don't care what anyone thinks. We all have our own opinions ahahahahah .

Racism........

If there are those who feel that people are against them because of the color of their skin or nationality, they need to give some thought to the idea that perhaps it's really because they're coming into the country illegally....by the hundreds of thousands. We'd feel the same if you were "white" of another nationality.

If they are not treated well by the leaders of their home countries, do they scream 'Racism"?

All those in favor, say, "I will take one bus load to my house and I will build accommodations, feed, vaccinate, cloth and educate them."

You want to keep them here...step up to the plate and tell Mayor Long your address, he will gladly hand them over and visit once per month for a progress report. You will also open your doors to the parents 90 days before election.

WORDS MEAN NOTHING... BE A DOER, the Mayor is awaiting your call.

The government claims no money to fix the infrastructure, cut backs in medicare, social security fund in bad shape, assistance for our legal homeless residents (many of them vets} etc. But plenty of money to fly, bus, feed, clothe and shelter illegal imagrints and pay bonuses to VA management. The Obama administration is lost with no sense of direction other than to blame others for their screw ups.

Just how many people from other Countries should we let in?
All of them?
50 Million?
Just these people on the buses?
Please tell me, where do you draw the line. Should we just disregard all National laws or just those that you believe we should?
We are in big trouble in this country and the reason is because we have allowed our Government to trash the Constitution and our National Laws.
I know it is hard to believe but at some point printing more money to pay our debt will not work and this Country will fail.
Please study this clock because when it runs out we will not be able to help ourselves let alone those from other countries.

Its funny that if these were Asian illegal aliens, none of the hispanic racist groups would be here protesting. They only want free and open borders for hispanics. If these were Asian or African, or European illegals, the Tea Party and immigration enforcement folks would still be there. They want the borders enforced for ALL illegal immigrants. It shows you who the real racists are!

In the Navy, we had a term for imminent collision at sea. It was "In Extremis". It is a Latin phrase that translates as "at the point of death". We are in extremis.

I've been saying that once is an accident, twice is incompetence, and three times is enemy action. This disregard for the rule of law is intentional.

Directed at Terri #76. I am so tired of people comparing the African American experience to every other experience in the world. It is not the same! African Americans were not "refugees" coming over to the United States in the 1960's on buses attempting to become citizens, they were already United States citizens! Hard working & tax paying, fighting for equal opportunity for something that they knew they had already earned the right to! TWO DIFFERENT ARGUMENTS, SO DON'T EVEN TRY IT!

In light of the fact many elitists found the images and reality of residents fighting back repulsive, I'd like to point a few things out.

The woman who lead and organized these protests gives interviews on local talk radio shows almost daily. She has been very consistent on the following:

When she learned they had been processing small numbers for months prior, she went to the local politicians for answers. They shut her out.

She learned from local doctors they were being released with diseases, and local children were contracting them.

She learned the facility was not sufficient - small holding cells with open toilets, etc. No clean place to eat. The locals wanted to erect a tent for eating (the authorities refused).

The county offered a mobile medical van to further test and screen for contagious diseases, they refused.

When border agents started leaking info to her about the volume they were expecting to dump there, she had had it and organized to protest.

These are not hateful people. They care about the impact to their community and feel the holding station is inadequate and inhumane.
