Palomar Hospital fully operational - ER and Trauma Center open

UPDATE - Palomar Health provided this update today, Fri., May 16 at 5 a.m.:

All Palomar Health hospitals and emergency rooms are currently OPEN and operational at this time.

Below, please find an update for each hospital and San Marcos service locations.

Palomar Medical Center – 2185 Citracado Parkway, Escondido

All hospital and emergency services are fully operational. The emergency room and trauma service is OPEN and OFF bypass; accepting patients as normal. All elective surgeries have been cancelled for today. Inpatient surgeries will continue as scheduled, or as needed.

Palomar Health Downtown Campus – 555 East Valley Parkway, Escondido

All hospital and stand-by emergency services are fully operational. All elective surgeries have been cancelled for today. Inpatient surgeries will continue as scheduled, or as needed.

Pomerado Hospital – 15615 Pomerado Road, Poway

All hospital and emergency services are fully operational.

Expresscare Health Clinic San Elijo Hills – 1571 San Elijo Road South, San Marcos

This location will be closed today. All other expresscare health clinic locations are fully operational (Rancho Penasquitos, Escondido, Temecula).

Palomar Health at San Marcos – 120 Craven Road, San Marcos

This location will be closed today. Palomar Health services in this facility include rehabilitation, wound care, diabetes health and corporate health.

Residents should NOT seek shelter at area hospitals unless immediate medical attention is needed.

UPDATE: Palomar Medical Center at 2185 Citracado Parkway, Escondido is open and operational, however, the emergency room and trauma center has Advertisement

been put on bypass and is not accepting any patients at this time. All elective surgeries have been cancelled for today. Inpatient surgeries will continue as scheduled, or as needed.

According to information released at noon today, Thurs., May 15, all Palomar Health hospitals are open and fully operational at this time.

Residents who have been asked to evacuate their homes are urged to follow those instructions. Unless you need emergency services, please do not use the hospital as an evacuation location in order to leave room for patients in need.

Close to a billion dollars to build and a fire shuts it down. What happens when the big one hits?

Building a hospital in that area is akin to building it on a fault line. What genius proposed this?
