Chula Vista: 19-year-old woman stabs, cuts boyfriend repeatedly

Issue 12, Volume 18.

A 19-year-old Chula Vista woman allegedly stabbed her 26-year-old boyfriend at least four times upon finding him in bed with her older sister following a night of heavy drinking, police said today.

The young woman, injured, crying and covered in blood, approached officers at the Chula Vista Mall shortly after 9:30 a.m. and told them she stabbed her boyfriend during a fight at a duplex in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue, near H Street, and he needed medical attention, Chula Vista police Lt. Fritz Reber said.

Officers found the wounded man in a parked car waiting for his girlfriend's 25-year-old sister to drive him to a hospital, Reber said. He had four stab wounds -- two to his chest and two to his right leg -- and severe

cuts to his face and arm, the lieutenant said.

He was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, which were believed to be life-threatening. His life signs were Advertisement

stable and he was awaiting surgery, police said.

The sister of the suspected assailant told police she and the victim had been drinking at a nearby bar, continued drinking into the early morning hours and fell asleep on her bed -- fully clothed, according to Reber. The victim echoed that account.

The victim awoke to his girlfriend stabbing and punching him, and fought back until the younger woman ran off, Reber said.

Reber said the officers described the inside of the unit as "very bloody."

The woman apparently walked about half a mile to the mall where she contacted police, Reber said. She was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries consistent with being hit in the face and was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Reber said additional charges, such as attempted murder, were being evaluated.

Police withheld her name because she claimed the assault may have been in self-defense.

Holy cow! The insanity continues.

Folks, here's a PERFECT example of gun owners screaming how horrible the use of knives are. And, no doubt, they are as this incident clearly shows! BUT, now imagine if the 19-year old assailant had used a gun instead of a knife. The answer is that (A) the victim would have had NO chance to defend himself, thus (B) most likely ending up dead. Again, TRUE, this attack using a knife is horrible. No doubt. But at least the victim had some sort of chance to defend himself, is alive, and hopefully will recover completely.

You got ZERO chance against a gun. Play out the scenario above with the assailant using a gun.

Play out the above scenario with a light saber...or an anvil, or a nuclear missile.... you're paranoia about firearms only reinforces why people like you who subscribe to this irrational emotion based ideology must be defeated swiftly, for the sake of our republic.

So, Lee - we ban knives now? What about fists? Sticks? I really wonder what your younger life must have been like (lots of bullying?) for you to grow old so afraid.

@ #2 Really?

Oh wow, how lovely. And what exactly do you mean by " . . . must be defeated swiftly . . . ?" Voting box? Censorship? Lobbying? Or are you referrin' to your . . . shoot 'n' kill mentality?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Take a deep breath, focus, and read the sentence. I know when you close your eyes all you see are big, Scawwy guns, locked and loaded, ready to fire, and the voices are whispering in your head again, but do try to concentrate on what the words mean.

@Lee #4 - Lee, I am sure that Really(?) would have a shoot'n' kill mentality in defense of his loved ones; but h eis also fully able to debate the matter as an adult; no made up scenarios. Don't be so afaird of everything - go outside, see the flowers, smell the air, enjoy life.

In order to "enquire" one must actually have a "mind" to begin with......

Wow, I'd hate to offend your reality....but I hope a friend stumbles across your desperate calls for attention and invites you out to have a fear free life, instead of spending hours on the internet finding people to project your misplaced Hoplophobia on.

two comments about two different stories having to do with knives, and Lee talks about guns. Am I missing something? I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I don't get why guns are coming into play in knife stories.

@#9-Lee's just saying knives are better than guns - when attacked. No believe me, you aren't missing a thing...

Anger is a weapon all in it's self, no matter which form is used. Physical, mental, verbal-they kill, harm, scar, and damage others.

@Comment #9: Because Lee wants to repeal the second amendment. He believes that all problems with guns are due to our founding fathers. He has, very clearly, never studied history or he would know that people were using guns long before our young country was even founded. Before guns they used knives, clubs and spears.... not to mention bows and arrows. We just let him ramble, no one pays much attention to him anyway, except to shake our heads and wonder how on earth he has managed to exist so long without any idea of how the world functions.

The Party has decided that the unicorn-riding, rainbow following, money forsaking, all forseeing Oracle Lee IS the current truth and, as such, deserved a separate topic accordingly.
