Man found dead inside Vista business identified as owner

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. has reported that a man found dead inside a Vista business has been identified as the owner.

On March 2, about 12:24 p.m., deputies responded to 1219 North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista based on a report of a deceased person inside the business. When the deputies arrived, they entered the business and found a deceased black male adult with traumatic injuries inside.

The man has been identified as Ruben Bodden, age 59. Bodden was the owner of the transmission repair shop at that address.

Bodden had last been seen by his family on March 1, 2014 when he was going to the business. He was discovered deceased by his wife. The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Sheriff's Homicide Detail, Vista Sheriff's Station Detectives, and Crime Laboratory personnel.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Homicide Detail at (858) 974-2321/after hours at (858) 565-5200. You can remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.

Sheriff's officials find body of man at Vista business

SAN DIEGO - The body of a man was found in Vista today, Sun., March 3 and sheriff's homicide detectives were dispatched to investigate, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

The body was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. at an auto business at 1219 N. Santa Fe Ave., sheriff's Lt. Jason Vickery said. It appeared the man had likely been the victim of homicide, he said.

Homicide investigators were later called to the scene, Vickery said.

If you lived in the West Los Angeles Drive-North Sante Fe area, crime is common. Astrea overhead every night, sirens blazing..... the folks are no better, every weekend Bud cans line the streets, marachi bands playing all night.

Fallbrook maybe "the friendly barrio"' this is the "real" barrio.

More details in the UT. The man killed was the father of one of the suspects in the Oceanside teen murders at that park a year ago. SDSO is not ruling out any motives. This one could get interesting folks. I hope the FBVN keeps this story alive.

its a bad area down there to many gangs in the area...look at the building are scribeled up with graffiti. It was a grewsome murder I heard....
