FALLBROOK – A little over a week ago, local author Laura McNeal was the guest at the Lunch with an Author event in the Fallbrook High School Library.

McNeal’s theme was "Truth in Fiction, and Fiction in Truth," in which she spoke to the students about the challenge of writing about people and events in one’s life without offending the people who are being written about.

She also donated some of Advertisement

her books to be raffled, including her celebrated book, "Dark Water," which is a fictional young adult story about a Fallbrook High student who makes some interesting choices during fires that cause residents to evacuate the town.

Lunch with an Author is a monthly event this year at Fallbrook High. Local published authors are still being sought to speak and can contact Judy Egan via email at jegan@fuhsd.net.
