Dr. Laura Williams Sweetman, 42, of Gilbert, Arizona left this earth on December 9, 2013

Laura was born on August 4, 1971 in Lampasas, Texas to Douglas Williams and Karen Williams Scott. She is survived by her husband, David Sweetman, and three sons, David II, Jackson & Blake; parents Douglas Williams and Karen Scott; stepmother Donna Shanahan; siblings Christopher, Justin & Reagan Williams, and Maile Geis.

Laura was a 1989 graduate of Fallbrook Union High School, continuing on to college at the University of San Diego and San Diego State where she earned her master’s in bio-chemistry. Following completion of her master’s degree, Laura continued on to medical school at St. George School of Medicine in Granada.

Laura completed her residency in Pediatric Neurology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and went on to practice in the Phoenix/Gilbert area. She was most recently affiliated with the Barrow Neurological Institute and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Vista Elks Club, 1947 E. Vista Way on February 1 at 1p.m. Memorials can be made to The Sweetman Family Education Trust, c/o Douglas Williams, 236 Via Cassandra, Fallbrook, CA 92028.

What a young, vibrant, intelligent lady to have passed too soon. My prayers go out to her and her family.

I am so very sorry to learn of the passing of Laura. My heart goes out to her children, her parents and siblings. R.I.P. sweet girl.
