FALLBROOK – Each year, as a result of fundraising efforts, California Retired Teachers, Fallbrook Division 81 awards grants to classroom teachers in the Fallbrook/Bonsall/Rainbow school districts. The grants help teachers purchase items that enhance the learning programs for kindergarten through high school age students.

Three grants were recently presented at Fallbrook Street School. Grant recipient Bridgid Murray will now be able to purchase 22 books to approach learning through literature to reinforce the sixth grade focus standards. Lessons and writing projects will be created to help these students who are below or far below basic level.

Lilly Ellefsen will use her grant funds to purchase math manipulatives to help build math understanding central to Common Core Math Standards.

Recipient Jennifer Mariucci will use grant funds presented to her to purchase small group sets of classic novels to enrich the language arts program.

Mrs. Guajardo was the best teacher I ever had. She truly made an impact in my education. We need more teachers like her!!!
