AAUW mentors and AVID have holiday party - Courtesy photo. - The American Association of University Women, Fallbrook Chapter hosted its annual holiday party with the Fallbrook High School AVID students they mentor on Dec. 20. The event was held at the home of Maria Wolownick. Three of the group’s graduates from recent years attended and shared how they had overcome challenges and obstacles as they journeyed from high school through college. The afternoon’s activities included a festive lunch, singing Christmas carols to the accompaniment of maracas, Judy Barnett’s piano playing, gift exchange games, and sharing cookies that the girls and their mentors had baked earlier in the week.
