Retired teachers provide more grants

FALLBROOK – Each year, through fundraising efforts, California Retired Teachers, Fallbrook Division 81, awards grants to classroom teachers in the Fallbrook/Bonsall/Rainbow school districts. The grants help teachers purchase items that enhance learning programs in grades K through 12.

Grant recipient Jennifer McConnell, who teaches third grade at San Onofre School, will use the funds to purchase books to build a "math library" to reinforce Common Core Advertisement

State Standards.

Lindsay Cato, a second grade teacher at San Onofre School, will use the grant funds she received to purchase Apple RV, a wireless iPad streaming system that allows access to applications and lessons, as well as enabling student progress to be monitored.

Carol Watson, a fourth grade teacher at Vallecitos Elementary School, will use her grant funds to purchase computer software to teach keyboarding.
