I'm writing this in the hope that it causes at least a few of you military personnel as well civilians to slow down and think when you ride these high performance bikes unsafely and foolishly. They're dangerous to begin with and when they're ridden by someone with more testosterone than sense they can injure you or worse kill you.

Slow down and think! You've got your lives ahead of you don't shorten it by being stupid.

Deja Vu? I don't know why cops don't patrol the mountain road more. Every time I've gone up there on the weekend you see these guys riding too fast.

A 32-year-old active duty Marine from Escondido died Sunday after a motorcycle crash on State Route 76.
The Marine was riding a 2007 Ducati motorcycle on westbound highway 76, just east of Red Gate Road near Palomar Mountain about 2 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt said.
According to a witness who was traveling behind the victim, the motorcyclist tried to make a right hand turn at a curve with a speed limit of 25 mph while going about 40 mph. The driver continued straight into the curve while his motorcycle slid out from under him, Bettencourt said.

My husband and I no longer drive up to Palomar to visit the observatory on weekends because of these crazy rocket jockies, we had 3 narrow misses, that was enough.
