FALLBROOK – A total of $12,000 in donations to various community groups was approved by the board of directors of the Angel Society of Fallbrook at its monthly meeting in August.

The Fallbrook Land Conservancy’s Trails Council led the list of recipients with $4,000. The funds will be used to contract with Cal Fire Rainbow Conservation Camp workers to clear trails in the Santa Margarita River Valley, which are used by an estimated 20,000 people annually. The donation will also be used to repair old tools and equipment as well as purchase new equipment, according to Donna Gebhart, trails council chair.

rooms and yards for children ages 9 to 12 years; and Front Porch, where volunteers empower people in high-risk areas to exchange ideas, viewpoints and support cultural festivities.

A total of $2,000 was awarded to the Fallbrook Child Development Center, Inc., a nonprofit corporation established in 1975 to provide an early childhood education program for low income children ranging in age from 1 to 5 years. Since its inception in 1975, the center has graduated more than 500 children.

North County Solutions for Change, which provides permanent housing solutions for homeless families, was also given $2,000. Based in Vista, the organization began in 1999 to solve family homelessness in North County San Diego by offering affordable housing, educational opportunities, employment training and health care. The group now operates a total of 47 houses.
