SAN DIEGO – Southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) and the Express Lanes from Mira Mesa Boulevard to Carroll Canyon Road will be closed Thursday night, Sept. 12, for continued construction of the Mira Mesa Direct Access Ramp (DAR), according to Caltrans.

The Express Lanes will be closed in both directions Thursday night at 8 p.m. followed by a closure of the southbound main lanes at 11 p.m. All lanes will be open to traffic Friday morning, Sept. 13, at 5 a.m.

Southbound traffic will be detoured west on Mira Mesa Boulevard, then south on Black Mountain Road to access I-15 from Carroll Canyon Road. Signs will be posted on the freeway in advance of the Advertisement

closure to direct motorists to the detours.

The Mira Mesa DAR, along with the new Miramar College Transit Station, which is also under construction, will link to the I-15 Express Lanes via Hillery Drive. This will be the fifth DAR constructed along the I-15 Corridor and will support future Rapid Transit service beginning in summer of 2014. The DAR and transit station is scheduled to be complete next year.

For more information, call the I-15 Express Lanes project information line at (858) 668-3368 or log on to www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
