Carl John Curt passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2013, at his residence in northern Nevada. He was born on August 26, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to Carl L. and Elizabeth Sommer Curt.

He was a previous resident of Fallbrook, Calif. Carl was a retired electrical engineer whose accomplishments included working with his father-in-law, Fred A. Thaheld, an inventor who held over seventy patents.

In the 1950’s, Carl drafted Thaheld’s "Weathermaster," a frost machine used in Orange County, Calif.

Carl loved art, music, animals, traveling, fishing, and the outdoors. He once spent weeks sailing, navigating the inland passage of Alaska in his boat with only his cat for company.

Survivors include daughter Suzanne Flood and grandson Jared; former wife Jeanette Thaheld Curt Waldrep; former wife Charlene Curt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Two other children, son Darrell Curt and daughter Teresa Fox preceded him in death, as well as longtime companion Carmen Danforth.
