Dennis Allen, 66, was born July 25, 1947 in San Diego and passed away July 27, 2013 in Arizona. He earned a bachelor's of science degree from San Diego State and was a long-standing clinical lab scientist at Fallbrook Hospital.

Dennis enjoyed playing softball, especially in the senior league, in addition to many other athletic pursuits. He had a passion for restoring classic cars in addition to racing stock and Formula V cars. With an adventuresome spirit, Dennis was always game to do anything fun and had a large circle of friends.

He served a total of eight years on the Fallbrook Union High School District board of trustees, was a dedicated volunteer of the Fallbrook Football Boosters, and coached many seasons with Fallbrook Youth Baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gloria; sons Steve Stephen (Amy) of Orangevale, Calif., Sean Stephen of Oceanside, Calif., Benjamin Allen of La Mesa, Calif.; sisters Cherry Dobbs of Alta Loma, Calif. and Mary Otte (Larry) of Peoria, Ariz.; grandchildren, Macy, Kinsey and Jackson Stephen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and June Allen, and brother, Donald Allen.

A memorial service was held in his honor on Aug. 3 at Fallbrook Golf Club. The family recommends that donations in his memory be made to the American Heart Association.

My thoughts and Prayers are with you Gloria and Family. I will miss seeing Dennis every morning on my run as he was headed to work in his little sports car or on his motorcycle.

I just heard yesterday of Dennis' passing. I am so sorry Gloria and Family!! I had known Dennis for many years and had the privilege of being his Dental Hygienist for much of that time. Such a fun and enjoyable man. All that knew him will miss him! Praying for all of you! Loving thoughts to you! RIP, Dennis!

Dennis, You will be missed my friend. It was truly my pleasure to know you the last thirty five years. Through Fallbrook Hospital, Fallbrook Fire Department and many softball games you were always a fun guy to be around. You were truly one of the GOOD GUYS.

I was sad to hear about Dennis' passing. My mom, Dee Morrissey, was an RN at Fallbrook Hospital for 20 years. 1965 to 1985. I met Dennis then and throughout the years, it was always a pleasure to see and speak with him. He was a true asset to Fallbrook Hospital and everyone who knew him. My thoughts, prayers are with his loved ones.

Gloria so sorry for your loss. Dennis and I were Ramona school buddies and room mates in collage. He was a wonder. We did not keep in touch and I last saw him at our 40th reunion. That's when I realized he was special to me still. I let a good friendship slip away, wish we had stayed in touch.

I very recently learned of Dennis' passing and was shocked, such a vibrant person that you thought would always be there. I sadly did not keep in touch with him over the last several years. I have had very few close friends but I counted Dennis as one of them. He always kept it from being boring when we worked those long night shifts together years ago at Sharp Hospital, I remember them fondly still. He came to our wedding even though Ben had just been born, loyal as always. A true friend who will be missed by many.
