BONSALL – The Bonsall Woman’s Club (BWC) met on June 6 in the San Luis Rey Downs Resort’s banquet room to present newly elected officers for the coming year, which starts in September.

The theme of this meeting centered on ‘the garden’ with each new officer introduced to the tune "Tiptoe through the Tulips," played by member Barbara Chahbazian. Fittingly, the first to ‘tiptoe’ was the "Garden Fairy," Geri Sides who introduces the guests at each monthly meeting.

Following the Garden Fairy were, in order, Marcia Sawyer, parliamentarian; Katie Wild, corresponding secretary; Donna Shanahan, treasurer; Marlene Rantanen, recording secretary; Judy Bresnahan, fourth vice president-ways and means; Renee Barnes and Claudia LaBarge, co-vice presidents-programs; Pat Miller, second vice president-membership; Bea Liner and Terry Fest, co-vice presidents-dean of chairs. The last to tiptoe was the president, Phyllis Zenz, who will continue as president for a second year.

The following members were appointed to serve on the board: Gail Golden, public relations and communication, and Rosalinda Delgado and Robin Scheuer to serve as hospitality.

Following the installation, members and guests were entertained by the BWC chorus, led by Cheryl Zales.

The incoming president chooses a club theme for her term as president. Next year’s theme will be "Let Your Light Fill the World." By ‘letting your light fill the world’ one’s own personal ‘garden’ can flourish and accomplish great things. As each member’s garden flourishes, so the impact of the Bonsall Woman’s Club will continue to flourish in the area.

The Bonsall Woman’s Club consists of members from Fallbrook, Escondido, Valley Center, Vista, Bonsall and surrounding communities. For more information, visit
