Remember a loved one with a quilt square

Thursday, July 11th, 2013
Issue 28, Volume 17.

Fallbrook Hospice will be putting a bereavement/memory quilt together and wants to extend the opportunity to all individuals in the community who have lost loved ones, friends, and neighbors in the past year to make a quilt square in their honor. The squares need to be 6 ˝" x 6 1/2," allowing for 6" x 6" to show, with the remainder of space for the attachment to the quilt.

Squares can be artistic or simply be a piece of an article of the loved one’s clothing, and can have whatever information about the loved one you would like to share. This type of quilt has not been done here at Fallbrook Hospice since 2002, when the quilt done won second place at the fair.

someone special and we would like to offer an artistic way to help individuals in the healing process to share with the community. You never know how many lives you can touch, or how many people you can help, simply by letting others in on the grief you are feeling.

Squares need to be sent to Fallbrook Hospice, 521 East Elder Street, Suite 208, Fallbrook, CA 92028, and received no later than Aug. 15, as Temecula Valley Sewing Center is donating their efforts to prepare and design the quilt based on the squares provided. Any squares received after that date will be retained for future quilts.

We look forward to sharing the final product with our community.
