Issue 24, Volume 17.

FALLBROOK – On Tuesday, June 11, at approximately 5:28 a.m., a 2012 Chevy Traverse driven by a male from Murrieta was stopped westbound on East Mission Rd. and turning left onto Live Oak Park Road.

The driver of the Traverse failed to see a motorcyclist traveling eastbound on East Mission Road and turned directly in front of it. The rider of the 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster was hit by Advertisement

the Traverse and ejected. His body then collided into the left front of a 2006 Chevy 2500 that was stopped at the stop sign on Live Oak Park Road.

The rider of the motorcycle, Kenneth Nair, 32, of Bonsall, was taken by medical helicopter to Palomar Hospital with major injuries and did not survive.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected in this collision. This collision remains under investigation.

Oh, I am so sorry for the family and friends of the young 32 yr old man. I sincerely pray that he will make it but all in God Almighty's hands. We have lost two young men in our
family from vehicle accidents within the last eight months. It is a horrific experience. I am also praying for all parties involved including the driver of truck and his family.

So sad but most motorcyclists seem to try to be invisible by wearing dark colors when they all should be driving with reflective vests even the CHP. At 5:28 a.m. its still dark and small objects are sometimes impossible to see. I also feel sorry for the driver of the Chevy, it was not his fault but now the lawyers will go after him bigtime.

VILLAGE NEWS NOTE: There is no indication the motorcyclist was wearing dark clothing in this incident. That type of detailed information has not been received. Just FYI. D. Ramsey

Many hearts are breaking in our community. Kenny was a wonderful and positive influence to the youth at Fallbrook Christian Fellowship. Compounding this tragedy, Kenny will not experience the incredible joy of holding the baby he and his wife are expecting any day now. Praying for God's comfort and strength for his wife, family and friends.

I had just met this young man for the first time at SonRise Christian Fellowship last Wednesday evening. We all played volleyball together.

I have maintained my faith through the toughest times. Although, I've often questioned why things happen the way they do, ultimately knowing that everything does happen for a reason.

However, it's gonna be really difficult figuring out the reasoning behind this.

Let's all keep this young man, and his family in our prayers.

Bert, you are ignorant. According to the article it most certainly WAS the Chevy drivers fault. At 5:28 is only 11 minutes before sunrise which means it was pretty well lit at that time. Even so, I guarantee you that the rider had his headlight on and that the driver just wasn't paying attention.

Thank you editor for trying to set Bert straight on the "dark clothing" comment.

To Bert, Referring to the driver of the Traverse and saying the accident wasn't his fault, what are you thinking? The motorcyclist was traveling East on Mission when the Traverse heading West made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist clearly violating the motorcyclist's right of way under the Ca. Vehicle Code. As to the lawyer "going after" the driver of the Traverse I certainly would. His negligence has made a young woman a widow and an unborn child an orphan. John Williams

Kenny was a man of the highest integrity. A man who loved his wife and God. A man who worked hard, paid attention to detail, was flexible, and had a sense of humor rarely found in any human being. He had no enemies. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him as a professional builder, a personable and caring friend and Christian mentor to others. Let's all remember his dear wife in our prayers and support her in anyway possible. Fallbrook lost one of it's best today.

@bert

You sir have a lot of nerve to go and blame this man. He was one of the most loving and caring men I ever had the pleasure to meet. You should be ashamed of yourself to speculate when this family is facing this tragedy. I sure hope you feel better after voicing your B.S. approach to this incident when you know no details what so ever. How about you pray for the family, his wife and soon to be born child.

Thank you village news for responding to this horrible comment.

a motorcycle has a headlight. how did the chevy not see him? how is it not his fault? he turned in front of someone and KILLED them. he deserves to go to jail. no motorcyclist tries to look invisible. a reflective vest would NOT have made a difference since the motorcycles headlight would have been shining forward and the chevy's headlights would not have hit the vest and reflected back with more intensity than the motorcycles headlight. i found comment 2 to be incredibly insensitive and insulting.

My prayers go out to Kenny's family. This tragedy on the heels of recent losses sent me into tears again today. I have been on the scene of accidents such as these all too often. Thank all of you for your comments of comfort...except you Bert. Are you like the Bert with Ernie from Sesame Street? I am Page's great-aunt. My husband and I attended Page and Kenndy's wedding. Our first meeting of Kenny was such a blessing. Yes, he was an awsome guy! One could sense the love that he had for Page and for his Savior, Jesus Christ! He didn't hesitate to let you know where he stood on those issues! He was proud to be called a "Christian"! Yes he is with the Lord rejoicing but it is so hard on us that are left to mourn, mostly because we don't understand. But we do know that we will see Kenny again! He would tell us all to be ready to meet the Lord by accepting Christ as our Savior! This world is not our home, we're just a passin through!
I lost a son-in-law near Austin, Texas a little over a year ago under similar circumstances. My heart goes out to Kenny's parents, Page and the baby, Cindy, Jeep, Jason and all the family that is grieving at this time! Lord willing we will see you and the new baby in September!

Our hearts and prayers go out to Paige and the entire family. An unimaginable loss at any time, but given the circumstances, so heartbreaking.
As someone who works from home on East Coast time -- it is pretty light by the time of the accident. In any event, it was an accident-- regardless of the circumstances. My prayers are with the driver as well. He made a mistake -- and I'm sure he is suffering as well. It's a time for us to pray, not condemn or judge.

I travel this road every morning and afternoon. I can't tell you how many close calls I've had while traveling east on Mission @ 6:00 am. Folks going westbound are constantly turning left on to Live Oak Rd. trying to beat eastbound traffic instead of just waiting. If the driver was at a stop waiting to turn left, it's hard for me to grasp how he did not see the motorcycle approaching. That is a very dangerous stretch of road.

@Bert, I think you spoke too soon

I came upon this crash only a few moments after it happend, the scene was heart breaking. I was in my van pool and I'm a motorcyclist, as a driver who must look LRL as we all were taught. You may not see a motorcyclist at first glance, but do a double take, because we are around ! This is a brother of all riders and we here at Camp Pendleton are sharing what has happen, I/we shall ride for him as we do with all of our fallen brother until we meet and ride across the heavens.

Although it seems that the cause of this tragic death was driver error, a contributing factor is the traffic management system at that time of the morning. The signals cause an almost continuous flow of cars heading east and west. Someone attempting to make a turn across oncoming traffic like this case or get into the traffic from a side street is forced to wait and then tempted by any break to get across. Any inattention like occurred here makes a dangerous situation worse.

Stop signs at a few intersections are needed to provide breaks and prevent further tragic deaths like this one.

My sympathies go out to the family.

Ken and Page moved to our neighborhood a few years ago. He was always friendly and generous to lend a hand. He took great pride in his work, which not many can say today. 5:28 am sounds like someone was still asleep. Please people, if you have to, wake up a little earlier and drink another cup of coffee before you hit the road in the morning, do so. I noticed a long time ago that the morning commute travels at a slower speed than the evening commute. I think it's because there are so many half asleep drivers out there. In the afternoon everyone is awake and doing 10mph faster. Driving is no joke, had the driver of the Traverse been a little more aware this wouldn't have happened. I'm sure the driver of the Traverse feels horrible, save yourself that heartache and PAY ATTENTION.

Anybody have any information as to where Ken and Paige did their banking at so that someone can send money to an account in the honor of Kenny and help donate to Paige and Ken's newborn along with Paige so that she can make it through these difficult times, also maybe a name of a friend that can help set up an account and meals for the family. I know too well how difficult these times are and can be especially under these circumstances with a newborn on the way I never knew the family but feel as though he had a great impact on many people. Such a terrible shame, but the awesome thing is he knew God ,and from what everyone who has posted that knew him, was aware that God could call him home at anytime! Faith is to believe in God's plan for our lives especially when we don't understand and thru the bad times!. I struggle with my faith myself, especially when I see something like this that is so heartbreaking, why would God take him and have him not meet his child? Pastor Greg, though a Pastor, is human just as we are and a tragedy such as this can be difficult for him as well. Pray for the family, the pastor, his friends that whatever god's plan for this family is Kenny knew the Lord would see them thru. Lord I ask that you be with this family and let them feel your presence and love, show them that by taking this young man so soon you needed him for a greater purpose! Amen!

I am very sorry for this loss of this young man. I can only imagine the grief of his wife and family. It is so hard to loose someone but it is even harder knowing that he has a baby on the way. I know it is always easy to find fault or side with the person who died or was injured. I am reading all the blogs and thinking of the grief, and remorse that the driver and his family is having. I am sure he may have a family and know what it would be like to loose a loved one. We were not there and we can only speculate what happened in the accident. We have a legal system that will need to investigate and do what is needed. I am just saying at this time as hard as it is we need to feel for both sides.

We do not know the facts of the accident, . The fact of the matter is that something very unfortunate happened, no matter who's fault it was. I feel sorry for the wife that he left behind, as well as for his unborn child. Pastor Greg, being the pastor that you are it's kind of childish and not very Christian like to be making such an immature comment. I feel bad for the driver, it was an accident, we don't know if he has a family... I can't even imagine what he is feeling knowing that the man he collided with has passed away. It's tough, but we need to feel both sides of this ACCIDENT.

Comment #69 | Thursday, Jun 13, 2013 at 4:05 pm
I want to clarify something, CHP investigates traffic collisions, not "accidents". Just because it was not intentional does not mean there was no negligence by the other driver... Drivers are still expected to drive with due regard for others on the road. This is something Kenny would agree with, he went to the CHP academy.

And I would also say (even though I am doing it right now) this forum is not a place to correct people or challenge what they posted, unless it is obviously offensive... Just leave a reflection and leave others alone.

Miss you Kenny, Paige we love you and are here for you.

My husband and I were driving along mission Rd that morning we saw the aftermath of the accident aparantly just a minute or two had passed since the collision had ocurred those images broke my heart I have cried over this a few times and couldn't sleep that night those images have troubled me greatly I prayed to God to allow him to live so he could get to know God.....I didn't know Kenny but now that I know that he was a great Christian man my heart and thoughts are a little more at ease.....it hurts me a lot to see others hurt and to know that he had a pregnant wife about to be due these days also broke my heart and couldn't help not to cry. Paige I don't know you but I feel very very deep empathy for you your husband your child and family and friends! If you need anything although im a stranger i would be more than willing to help and Im a sister in Christ so Im not so much of a stranger. And just a last note I'm a witness that it wasn't dark anymore at the time of the accident occurred I was out there and visibility was already a hundred percent already in my opinion this was negligence from the driver that hit Kenny with or without motorcycle head light on visibility was a 100% I'm not attacking anyone but in cases of negligence I do believe justice should be served! Paige I pray for God to carry you in his arms during this very difficult times.

Pastor Greg, you can be my pastor any time. People don't understand that being a Christian does NOT mean being a patsy. I agree with your comments fully.

My husband Dan, found out about this accident last night, he knew Kenny from his home school group and from working with him as a young adult. It was clear to me that Kenny had made a positive impact on Dan's life. This is tragic news and our hearts go out to his wife and unborn child. Proverbs 10:7 reminds us that the memory of the just will be blessed, Clearly this is true of Kenny! Prayers!

There is nothing worse to say to a person grieving a death than that it is part of God's plan or that they are in a better place, like some have done.

I say that as a believer and someone who has lost a child.

Hearing that makes a newly bereaved person want to punch the lights out of whoever said it.

It's also nauseating to read how people are talking about the driver.

Nice way of representing Jesus folks.

I completely understand where Resident is coming from. As believers we know that our loved one, is indeed in a better place and that sometimes is the only thing to help one get past the grief and the pain. It doesn't mean however, that they aren't still in terrible pain. Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is to just give them a hug. A hug can convey a message that needs no words. May God bless and keep the family of this young man, and carry them through this trying time. Amen.

Resident, I am sorry for your loss.

You don't think Heaven is better than earth?

I don't see aanybody talking about the driver in any way other than to say the driver of the SUV was at fault and should take responsibility. How is that so wrong?

Book of revelations, thanks for your post. I agree that a hug is the best thing to do. I also understand more of the grief Resident conveys. I just think Resident is being a bit harsh on people. Sometimes, they don't know what to say and the things that bother Resident are the only things people can think of to say. I think Resident should understand that and not take it out on people who mean well.

Anyway, the focus here should be on the grief the Nair family is going through right now. My prayers are with them.

Obviously, you guys have miss the point I was trying to make so let me just try to break it down. For one Paige needs love and prayers at this time she has suffered a huge loss. When all of you can stand up and say you have never sinned more power to you the one thing that bothers me most is that most of you who make it very clear your Christian's and all you can do is cast stones at the driver and want to crucify him for his mistake. Is it not God who is in control it is him who calls us home in his time a blink of an eye Godspeed! I thank and praise God for taking Kenny when he wanted after all we are all here for Gods purpose. Now it's time to step up and be Christlike and practice love and forgiveness because that is How a true Christlike person is suppose to act. I know Kenny is safe in the arms of our dear Lord in heaven. I pray that the driver knows Christ and if not i pray this will be the beginning of a relationship with him. Just because your saved doesn't give you a pass to heaven its a daily walk that can only happen with true repentance. I'm sure the driver is going through his own nightmare you can make a choice practice acts of love and kindness or act of hatefulness what I've seen on this blog is a bunch of people hurting lashing out most of all being very unkind. If you really want to be a help you will just pray and let The Lord judge.

For we are called to hate the sin not the sinner. Love everyone just as Christ loves you. Have faith and trust in Gods plan. For we are here only for a season he has the right to take call us home in his time. My praise and prayers go out to our Lord I celebrate Kenny's birth in to heaven what a glorious day for The Lord to have his angel back in his arms. In return The Lord has sent his comfortor for Paige the Holy Spirit and will continue to bless her through this tough time we have to remember its not about us it's about him.

Andrea you are right, but.... God also calls for accountability and consequences for our sin and unwise decisions. We can still love someone and hold them accountable. This is not the place to be challenging everyone in their walk, as I said before. Maybe you should impart grace to those you feel are "lashing" out in pain....

If your walks are being challenged maybe its because of your behavior on this blog. Ask yourself are you imparting grace to everyone I will say this when reading this blog it makes me sad to think that even a Pastor would make such comments. This is a tragedy on both sides and its everyone's jobs to practice love and forgiveness for everyone no matter what the situation we are suppose to be examples just because your angry does not give you a pass to be mean and hateful this has to be also looked as an opportunity to bring people to Christ. We all suffer loss differently this I know and am very sensitive to others about, however, it's really hard to watch people who profess to be Christians ripping people apart because of their lack of knowledge in a situation. If there was somebody in the car with the driver and knows all the facts, great, but doesn't sound like it. Everyone should keep their theories to themselves and quit making assumptions as if they know 100% that the driver did this on purpose. I'm sure when he woke up that morning his thought was I'm going to get in my truck and go find Kenny so I can run him down I think absolutely not we don't know what was going on I do know this is was an accident! It was not intentional there is a big difference! Practice love and forgiveness all of you have hope and faith in our Lord's plan. Unless you are certain he is trying to not take responsibility for his actions then quit with the assumptions and accusations. Trust in Our Lord that he will bring justice. I pray for Paige and her baby I also pray that The Lord protects her mind, and heart from those who obviously can't practice self control with their thoughts and what they say. May God help all of you I continue to pray for all of you because once you say something or perhaps even write it, it can cut like a double edged sword and instill hurt and I surely don't want to be that person. If any of you are offended by my boldness I'm sorry but this world has enough tragedy and that simply has to change. We are called to just LOVE one another no matter what. May God Bless all of you!

Sadly you are totally missing the point. You should consider your own advice. I would also say I think your perspective would be vastly different if the loss was of one of your close loved ones. That is all I'm going to say.....

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the entire Nair family and friends. I am deeply saddened of the loss. I knew Kenny through my friend, I don't exactly remember the last time I met with Kenny but I do remember the very first time as if it were simply yesterday. He was 15 years old and I was helping his sister and brother-in-law move from one residence to the other. After the move that day, everyone involved in the move spent a few hours at a pizza place eating lunch and visiting. That day I remember Kenny as that kid who loved to joke and clown around. He reminded me of how I was when I was that age. This is the one memory of Kenny I shall always reflect upon.

We had the privilege of attending the Sunday service for Kenny at Sonrise. The family showed so much dignity and strength and the eulogies were so heart-felt. Wishing Paige and her new baby the very best, we are so sorry for your loss, Kenny was obviously a very special person and loved by many.
