The Warriors’ dual meet on March 21 was a 91-41 home victory over Orange Glen. Senior Connor Froboese accounted for 15 of Fallbrook’s points with victories in the 800-meter, 1,600-meter, and 3,200-meter races. Froboese finished the 3,200-meter event in 10:33 while junior Elijah Roque had a time of 10:35.

Fallbrook swept the scoring positions in the 1,600-meter run with Froboese finishing in 4:45.0; Rene Hernandez in second with 4:45.2, and Roque third in 4:46. In the 800-meter race Froboese’s winning time was 2:03, Tellames was second, and Hernandez was third at 2:04.

Timing complications during the 100-meter dash deprived the runners of official marks but not of a Fallbrook sweep. Tervino Cordova won the race followed by DeQuincey Roberson and Micah Marroquin.

Cordova also won the 200-meter dash with a recorded time of 23.0 seconds. James Pease was second at 23.2 seconds while Roberson finished in 24.0 seconds for third.

Pease won the 400-meter race in 53.2 seconds. Sierra Arteaga finished second in 55.7 seconds. Colyn Todd won the 300-meter hurdles race in 44.7 seconds with Gustavo Tarango finishing second in 45.3 seconds. Tarango won the 110-meter hurdles race while setting a personal record of 16.3 seconds; Brian Person was third in the 110-meter hurdles.

The Warriors captured the 4x400 relay race with Pease, Marroquin, Tarango, and Arteaga posting a time of 3:38.

Fallbrook received first-place points in three field events. Nick Adams cleared 11’6" in the pole vault; John Duong had a high jump height of 5’4"; and Hayden Haldi threw the discus 115’11". Haldi also earned second-place points with a triple jump of 39 feet 0 1/2 inches while Ricky Stephens was third at 37’3". Jason Whitesell threw the shot put 34’2" for second place. Duong’s long jump of 18’5" took third place.

The same day, Fallbrook’s girls took an 87-43 victory over the Patriots at home. Fallbrook swept the scoring positions in the pole vault, the 100-meter dash, and the 200-meter dash.

Pole vaulters Shavonne Donoghue, Taryn Ransbury, and Mikala Tidd all cleared 8’0". Peyton Brittain won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.8 seconds; Daijon Sumpter finished second at 12.9 seconds with Madeline Gilchrist edging Jordan Danso for third place in 13.6 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Brittain’s winning time was 26.4 seconds; Sumpter took second place with a 27.2-second performance, and Gilchrist was third at 28.1 seconds.

"We crushed them in the sprints. We have a pretty special group of sprinters," Hamlin said.

Although Orange Glen took first-place points in the 400-meter run, Jessica Steinhoff finished second at 1:07.1 and Monique Gonzalez had the third-place time of 1:10.3.

Brittain, Sumpter, Sarah Grantham, and Danso comprised the winning 4x100 relay team which completed their race in 51.5 seconds.

Grantham’s transition from a four-step style to a three-step style in the 100-meter hurdles led to a first-place time of 16.4 seconds. "It was just a fantastic performance. She got it down," Hamlin said.

Grantham added a first-place mark of 49.9 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles. The Warriors also had the two fastest times in the 3,200-meter run. Hannah Niebel won that race in 12:05 while second place went to Haley McCaffrey, who took 12:25. Rosanne Lopez and Niebel were the first two finishers in the 1,600-meter event. Lopez had a time of 5:34.3 while Niebel settled for second place at 5:35.1. Lopez added a victory in the 800-meter run with a time

of 2:34.2.

The Warriors also had the top two marks in the high jump with Danso and Rosalee Helling both clearing 4’6".

Amanda Williams and the unrelated Heather Williams shared second place in the discus throw with identical distances of 86’2". Amanda added a third-place shot put distance of 29’1. Gonzalez was second in the long jump at 13’2".
