FALLBROOK – McDaniel Fruit Company/Linda-Vista Brand Avocados, sponsor of the 2013 Art of the Avocado contest, has announced the winners of the competition.

In the 3-Dimensional Category: "Avocado Day" by Elaine Lindsay won first place; "Santo Avocado" by Denise Gillen took second place; and "Hands On" by Thomas Rondeau earned third place.

Winners in the 2-Dimensional Category: "Seahorse with Avocado" by Krista Timberlake won first place; "The Avocado Pickers" by Marie Parsai won both second place and the Brandon Gallery Director’s Award; and "The Offering" by Bob Kaler was awarded third place.

A reception was held on Saturday, April 13 at Brandon Gallery. The winners were determined by a panel of judges from the local area.

The artwork will remain on display at the gallery, located at 105 N. Main Avenue, through April 27.
