SAN DIEGO – All lanes in both directions on Interstate 15 at the State Route 76 interchange will be subject to closure from Sunday, April 21 to next Thursday, April 25, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to Caltrans. All motorists will be detoured to the SR-76 off-ramp and back to the I-15 on-ramp. SR-76 will remain open with flaggers directing traffic at the interchange. Changeable Message Signs will be placed in Advertisement

advance of the closure. Motorists may experience a delay will traveling through this area.

The work is part of the I-15/SR-76 Interchange Improvement Project that will connected to SR-76 East Project, which will start later this year to realign and widen the highway to four lanes.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It's the law!

Fortunately, there's nothing going on in Fallbrook on the 21st other than tens of thousands of people trying to go home from the AvoFest. Who plans this stuff?

"Who plans this stuff?" Why it's the same group that shut down two lanes of Interstate 10 in Palm Springs one Sunday a few months back.

According to the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce website,,

the Avocado Festival goes from 9am - 5pm. Everyone, including the vendors, should be at home before the "subject to closure" even begins. Quit the complaining for complaining's sake, already.

I'm glad I don't have that commute anymore. There are very early morning commuters, though. Do they realize that?
