SAN DIEGO/RIVERSIDE - The gusty west winds that blew through the mountain and desert areas of Riverside County and the Coachella Valley overnight are expected to continue through early Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.    A trough of low pressure moving inland through the Great Basin pushed winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 50 mph, into the mountains and deserts, forecasters said.    Local gusts of up to 55 mph could be possible through and below the San Gorgonio Pass, including areas north of Interstate 10 in the Advertisement

Coachella Valley. The NWS issued a wind advisory, set to expire at 10 p.m.    "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for (drivers of) high profile vehicles," according to an NWS advisory.    The winds could mean problems for drivers, with blowing dust reducing visibility. Portions of  of Interstate 10 and Highway 111 in the northern Coachella Valley could be affected, according to the weather service.    Gusts of 65 mph were reported about 10 p.m. Sunday in Sky Valley, and 49 mph gusts were recorded at Whitewater late Sunday afternoon, according to the weather service.
