VISTA - A Camp Pendleton Marine and two women were ordered today to stand trial on murder, torture and other charges stemming from the death of a military wife from Fallbrook, who authorities say was killed after being kidnapped and forced to participate in a bondage and sadomasochistic sex ring.

After a six-day preliminary hearing, Vista Judge K. Michael Kirkman found that enough evidence was presented for Louis Ray Perez, 46, Dorothy Maraglino, 37, and 25-year-old Jessica Lynn Lopez to proceed to trial.

In addition to murder and torture, the defendants are charged with conspiracy, attempted sexual battery and kidnapping.

Brittany Killgore's body was found near Lake Skinner last April 17, four days after the 22-year-old victim agreed to go on a dinner cruise with Perez.

A deputy medical examiner testified that Killgore was strangled with some sort of ligature before being dumped near the Riverside County lake. The victim also had a deep cut from a saw below her left knee, suggesting attempted dismemberment after she died, Dr. Craig Nelson testified.

Killgore had just filed for divorce from her Marine husband -- who was deployed to Afghanistan at the time -- and was preparing to move back to Pennsylvania. Lance Cpl. Cory Killgore was cleared of any wrongdoing in his wife's death.

The victim's best friend said she and Killgore became acquainted with the defendants in 2011 but never participated in their alternative lifestyle.

Another friend testified that Killgore texted the word "help" shortly after leaving with Perez, who told the friend in a subsequent phone call that he dropped Killgore at a bar and saw her go off with "two guys."

Perez allegedly took Killgore to Maraglino's home in Fallbrook, where authorities said they found ropes, whips, a Taser, a nightstick, spiked gloves and a "sex dungeon."

All three defendants were involved in sexual behavior that included bondage, torture and master, servant and slave role-playing, and Killgore was an "unwilling participant" in those activities, sheriff's detective Susan Fiske alleged in search warrant affidavits.

A document written by Maraglino and found during a search of her Fallbrook home indicated she was a "willing participant" in whipping, beating and asphyxiation and any "loss of life should be considered an accident," sheriff's Detective Brian Patterson testified today.

In another letter, Maraglino wrote of a fantasy in which a person's throat is slit from behind, Patterson testified.

A status conference is scheduled Thursday in Kirkman's courtroom.

These three (I won't call them people) are some very scary looking individuals. The women in particular look like, you will pardon the expression, scum. Why on earth would an attractive young woman like Brittany Kilgore have even given them the time of day? I wouldn't have wanted to cross the street with any of them, much less get into their car. Parents out there, caution your kids as they are growing up, if someone gives you a bad vibe run like crazy in the opposite direction!

I will tell you why, Disgsted, because children are taught not to judge, to have acceptance of people's alternative life styles, etc. If they don't, then they are labeled judgmental and they are ostersized. It is putting our children in danger and this particular case makes my point. We NEED to teach our children to discern right from wrong, make a judgement and act on it. Who cares if immoral, unethical, or people who are engaging in illegal activities, call you judgemental!

FDA should be more specific as to whom he or she wishes to judge and exactly what criteria are to be used and what supposedly alternative lifestyles you reference. Without this information I frankly have no idea what the point FDA is trying to make.

You are absolutely right FDA. If being concerned about some peoples lifestyle choices make you judgmental, so be it. Teach your children right from wrong. I was taught right from wrong and obviously so were you. That doesn't mean that you have to be hurtful to others just keep out of their way. It could save your life.

Oh for pete's sake, under no circumstances does this issue have ANYTHING to do with being gay "brookie". These criminals are heterosexual. I didn't realize that trying to protect our children and grandchildren from predators was a left wing/right wing thing. We are so afraid in this country to teach our children right from wrong that we put them in harms way. They are being told "if it feels good do it". Not so. Certain lifestyles (like sadomasochism) which finds pleasure in pain, can bring harm to innocent people, like Brittany Kilgore. I firmly believe that what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home in their business, but some of these people (like these suspects) are sick, and in many cases, evil. I told my children, and will tell my grandchildren, to avoid people who are into this sort of thing, like the plague!

Wow Brookie. I can't believe that you actually think being gay is an alternative lifestyle. We are born gay or straight and I am glad that I was able to educate you on that.

ABC, I'm sorry that reading comprehension is not your strong suit. Whatever is immoral, illegal or unethical to you. I'm certainly not going to run your family for you. I think something, however, that most people can agree upon is a threesome in a dungeon where you are whipped, hit with a spike board, and strangled would be on the immoral list. Kidnapping and forcing one to engage in this activity would be illegal, and stealing from your place of employment would be both illegal and unethical.

ABC, if you can't figure out, after reading this article, the type of alternative lifestyles FDA was referring to in her post, i'm going to have to "judge" your comprehension skills. If you actually, "frankly" yet, have "no idea what point FDA is trying to make" here, i feel very sorry for anybody that depends on you, for anything. I think "you should make more specific" exactly HOW low your iq is, so the rest of us can know how to respond to you correctly without thinking, maybe, that your post may really be a joke and we shouldn't waste the time.....and i mean this frankly.
