FALLBROOK - There is a member-of-the-public vacancy on the board of directors for the newly formed Fallbrook Public Utility District and Rainbow Municipal Water District’s joint-powers authority. The JPA is like a structural umbrella over the two water districts that will enable both districts to save money by sharing equipment, resources and employees.

Anyone interested in filling the seat should prepare a written statement of qualifications that includes the reason the applicant wants to serve on the board. The statements should be filed with either district’s board secretary on or before 5 p.m. on March 29. The existing board members will interview candidates the week of April 8.

Applicants must be registered voters living within the boundaries of FPUD or Rainbow’s service areas. They must also file a Fair Political Practices Act disclosure statement. Mary Lou Boultinghouse is the FPUD board secretary at P.O. Box 2290, Fallbrook, CA 92088, (760) 728-1125. Dawn Washburn is the secretary at Rainbow, 3707 Old Highway 395, Fallbrook 92028, (760) 728-1178. Either can be contacted for more information.
