Cold storm system from Northwest headed toward San Diego County

SAN DIEGO - Weather experts have said a cold storm system from the Northwest is headed toward San Diego County today (Mon., March 4), threatening to being showers Thursday through early Saturday.

The National Weather Service said the storm system also would lower snow levels and possibly bring thunderstorms to the region.

"This system may also result in strong westerly winds in the mountains and deserts Wednesday, and hazardous travel through the mountain passes Friday and Saturday," according to an NWS advisory.
