FALLBROOK – The Rotary Club of Fallbrook recently recognized Brenda Montiel with a Paul Harris award. Montiel was given this award because of her long-standing commitments to numerous valuable projects in North San Diego County.

Montiel served as chairman of the music department at Palomar College. She is also the founder and director of creative arts at the San Luis Rey Academy. Noted for her musical talent, Montiel has given many piano, organ, and harpsichord concerts during her career.

"The community has been lucky to have her involved in the Fallbrook Music Society," said the Rotarians. "She has been the leader in bringing many memorable concerts to the community."
