Mine clearing line charges are 1,750 pounds of linked C-4 (Composition C) explosives used to create a breach in minefields under combat conditions. In addition, Camp Pendleton artillery units will be conducting live-fire training exercises in the Whiskey and Zulu impact areas from noon to midnight on Friday. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.

Because then you people would complain about the traffic as they drive through Fallbrook and money the military wastes transporting everyone/everything to 29 Palms. I know, it's weird and shocking when you live next to a military base to hear military things going on. You'll live.
Training is what makes the Marines the best fighting force in the world. I saw them in action in 1952 during the Korean War. The Army almost lost that war because they were not fully trained. One example, in 1952 the Marines were well trained in calling in air strikes by those on the ground. The Army had not trained with the Air Force since World War Two and didn't even have radios that could be used ground to air. Just be glad we have the best fighting force in the world right next door. And the next Marine you see say thanks.
I think it's hilarious how people complain bout the noise. Hey guess what, nobody cares if it bothers you, so just deal with it.

every time FVN sends a notice of noise, the complainers come out. It's just too funny. Like Camp P cares that it bothers you. IT REALLY ISN'T THAT BAD ALL YOU COMPLAINERS!!!
My windows start to rattle and I freeze, is it an earthquake... the booms start and I realize thankfully it's Pendleton training, I starting breathing easier again.... a wonderful peace comes over me that all is well in my beautiful Fallbrook. I love that feeling. Keep training Marines and please stay safe.
You people are so very lucky. You can enjoy proof that the Marines are always prepared and ready for whatever comes. Be proud they train so they can be ready to keep us safe.
Just wait until a school bus driver cannot sleep because of the noise and crashes with a bus load of kids. I am fine with the bombing but after 10PM? Sound of freedom? Sound of home prices faling even more in Fallbrook.
Not even just Fallbrook. I live over 18 miles from the Camp but depending on the location they use, my house shakes like they're firing next door. The last time a couple months ago was the worse ever.
Do you think during a war, the other side says, "Oops, it's after 10pm, lets stop fighting!" There are things called earplugs…if you are a bus driver, get some. If it bothers you THAT much…MOVE!! By the way…did you not know there was a HUGE Military base called Camp Pendleton when you moved into your home?? The home values are NOT falling because of the base…they are falling because of the people we have running Washington D.C. Go live next to them and complain!
Matt - I'd argue that part of the reason Fallbrook exists as it is is BECAUSE of Camp Pendleton. A lot of military/retired military/civilian workers from Pendleton rent or own houses here, spend money here, pay property taxes here, send their kids to school here, participate in volunteer activities here, etc. etc. etc. And as #13 says, Pendleton isn't a new addition to the area, it shouldn't surprise anyone that you notice it's there every once in awhile.
I hope they are all either current or future Oath Keepers.
I don't understand why I should have to be inconvenienced just because we have a war going on. I mean, why can can't the most powerful military in the world be a litte more considerate of my schedule? Isn't it enough that I have to hear about it all the time? What is next? Are they going to ask me to contribute something to the war effort? Sure, this training might save a few lives and win some battles, but I woke up like 2 times last week. This whole war thing is just way to inconvenient. What about the poor little puppies? Doesn't anyone care about the scared little puppies?? OK, sorry, sarcasm off now.
Give me a break you teary eyed sissys! I bet you (the ones complaining) would be so smart as to buy a home next to the train tracks and be the type amazed to see/hear a train. WHAT?!?!?!?! You say you should be afforded special preferences and the train should be derailied for you?!?!?! Well, here I come shovel and hankey in hand to make your life so much better! SICK!
The military can do anything . . . and, we the people, be darned.
Is it possible to have a week warning, precise hour or time for the bombing? If so we as a community could put our pets in cages or schedule open houses for sale accordingly. Just wondering |
