Roy served as an Army medic from 1967 to 1969. In 1975, he graduated from the UCSF School of Pharmacy as a Doctor of Pharmacy. He enthusiastically loved his profession. In 1978, he founded RxRelief, a staffing agency for pharmacists. His company, the first in San Diego, expanded nationally before being sold in 1997. Roy was the owner of two pharmacies in his career, Value Drug in San Diego and Bonsall Pharmacy in the River Village Center, Bonsall. He last worked at the Indian Health Council Clinic in Pauma Valley. He is survived by his wife, Karen Long of Fallbrook; his sister, Sue Olson of Winchester, Calif. and brother David Long of Issaquah, Wash. His parents, Maurice Long and Dorothy Galloway Long preceded him in death. Roy was cherished deeply by his family and friends. He will be missed every day.
