Northeast to east winds will continue mainly through and below the passes and canyons and near the coastal foothills through the day Thursday. Top local gusts will reach 55 mph. Clear and dry air will bring efficient cooling tonight for the wind-sheltered valleys...resulting in frosty conditions. Wind advisory now in effect until 10 pm Thursday. Frost advisory remains in effect from 10 pm this evening to 9 am Wednesday. High wind warning is canceled. The National Weather Service in San Diego has canceled the high Wind warning. * Winds...areas of northeast to east winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. * Location...mainly in the far inland valleys near Advertisement * Timing...tonight through 10 pm Thursday. * Impacts...the winds will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high profile vehicles. Watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines. * Temperatures...dropping to 29 to 32 degrees for many wind-sheltered inland valley locations overnight. * Timing for frost...late this evening through mid-morning Wednesday. * Impacts for frost...sensitive plants and crops may be damaged or killed if left unprotected. * Outlook...northeast to east winds will subside by late Thursday night...becoming locally breezy through early next week. Warmer conditions Wednesday night through the weekend will mitigate frost chances. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. A frost advisory means that frost is possible.
