Gopher Canyon Road closed due to waterline break and sink hole; Rainbow Water working on repair

A broken waterline has led to flooding and a sink hole on Gopher Canyon Road, causing closure of the roadway.

The problem was evaluated at 4:43 p.m. today, January 3 and subsequently both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Sig Alert was issued at 5:04 p.m. for Gopher Canyon Road at Dentro de Loma Road.

Rainbow Municipal Water District dispatched a crew at 5:28 p.m. to work on repairing the waterline.

No further information has been made available at this time.
