FALLBROOK – On Dec. 8 and 9, the Fallbrook Girls U12 All Stars took third in their pool at the Southern California All Stars Championships in Oceanside. They allowed a total of only one goal in three games. Their record was two ties and one loss.  The goal was given up to the tournament champion Oceanside Breakers on a questionable goal.

The strong defense of Ariana Arias, Alicia Bazan, Audrey Gillcrist, Angie Ortega, and Delana Sehnert was led by a very tough goalkeeper, Monica Saltz. All the opposing coaches were very impressed with Monica’s play. The tenacious midfield included Madie Atwater, Mia Carrillo, Maggie Magdalena, Andrea Martinez, and Ella Payne. The offense was comprised of Amber Buehman, Alida Corona, and Nikel Villa.

According to Coach John Buehman, "a few coaches from Fallbrook thought that the girls would get killed at the tournament, quite the contrary happened. The girls went out and played hard and never gave up. They established a reputation as a hard fighting team."
