FBYSL U12 wins all star tournament

FALLBROOK – On Dec. 8 and 9, Fallbrook Boys Youth Soccer League U12 boys won the San Diego Southern California All Star Tournament held in Oceanside, bringing home a championship trophy. What made it so exciting is that the team was comprised of an extremely young team in which the majority of boys had to play a year up.

The U-12 boys won all their games except the first which they tied against Oceanside. The two coaches, Juan Atilano and Erika Maldonado, were extremely pleased with the boys’ talent and effort. They had only six practices to find where the boys could best play to optimize their talent.

Coach Atilano pushed them to develop their skill, increase stamina and work as a team. Couch Maldonado said, "They learned to play together with one purpose…to win the All-Star tournament. As soon as those cleats hit the field, they gave it their all. They won because they played with passion." In the final game, they literally crushed their opponents 4-1 because they wanted it so badly.
