Jason F. Hunzinger of Carlsbad was riding his motorcycle north on Sandia Creek Drive, north of Rock Mountain Drive shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, December 21, when he rounded a bend on the two-lane road, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford F-150 truck, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office reported. Hunzinger was thrown from the motorcycle and into the roadway. He was wearing a helmet, according to the Medical Examiner's Office. A fellow motorcycle rider called for help.
