Christmas tree fire safety tips

SAN DIEGO – Christmas is time for happiness, spending time with family and friends. Cal Fire warns everyone to not let the holiday excitement make them forget that fire knows only destruction and sorrow.

Never place candles on the Christmas tree. Avoid placing a tree near the heater or other appliances. Keep the tree in water; a dry Christmas tree will burn with incredible speed, a room can be engulfed in flames and smoke in moments.

Be fire safe, not sorry!
