Issue 49, Volume 16.

FALLBROOK – Legacy Endowment Community Foundation recently awarded $71,000 in grants to non-profit programs in North County San Diego from its Elisabeth Wilson Endowment Fund. The Wilson fund distributes annual grants in two fields of interest, senior citizen care and disabled assistance. Because the fund is an endowment, only the annual earnings are distributed and the original gift remains in place, forever. During the 11 years the fund has been at the Foundation, it has awarded over $1.1 million in community benefits for North County.

The nine 2012 grants included $20,000 to Foundation for Senior Care’s Care Van program to help purchase a new van for senior transportation and its Care Advocates program providing Lifeline Alert Buttons to seniors living alone; $10,000 to the Fallbrook Food Pantry to provide food for seniors in need; $10,000 to The Elizabeth Hospice for the low-income Hospice Care Fund; $10,000 to REINS for Therapeutic Program support at the Advertisement

The foundation will be preparing for another grant cycle summer of 2013.
