Southern CA Damekor members, from left, Joy Cook, Ruth Dunlop, Pat Hensley, Darcie Dunlop, and Lynne Bradley perform their Jul (Christmas) program during the Holiday Open House at the Little Viking Scandinavian Gift Shoppe in Old Town Temecula on Nov. 16. The Damekor is a women’s ensemble that specializes in the choral music of Scandinavia. Lorian Dunlop accompanies the singers of the Damekor on the cello. The group will perform another free concert at Pala Mesa Resort on Wednesday, Dec. 19 starting with the candlelight Santa Lucia procession that is a very traditional Scandinavian Christmas event. From left, Darcie Dunlop, Lynne Bradley and Lorian Dunlop play their instruments while the rest of the Damekor sings “Glade jul” (“Silent Night”). Lynne Bradley plays the harp during a holiday performance of the Damekor in Temecula. The group performed traditional Scandinavian holiday songs including “En stjerne skinner i natt” (A Star Shining in the Night) and “Nå tennes tusen julelys” (Now Light One Thousand Christmas Lights).
