FALLBROOK – On Thursday, Oct. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m., Ken Finster of Cyan Retirement Strategies will present a free college financial planning workshop in the community room at Fallbrook Library, 124 S. Mission Rd.

The workshop will cover how to reduce the out-of-pocket cost of college, how college selection affects costs, the truth about private vs. public colleges, financial aid sources, and how to improve financial aid qualification.

Examples will be offered, and best practices discussed. In addition, college costs will be put in perspective relative to other family financial goals, such as retirement savings.
