Stokes announces Fallbrook landscape art show

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook’s only lifelong hometown artist, Brett Stokes, has announced an exhibition of new work that captures Fallbrook’s natural native landscapes, landmarks, and rivers. Stokes calls the exhibit Virgin Fallbrook Pre-Columbian Landscapes.

"The show is reflective of a time when now called Diegueno, Cupeno, and Luiseno people roamed freely, along with grizzly bear, mountain lion, and steelhead salmon," said Stokes.

"The paintings are a visionary view of Fallbrook without buildings, eucalyptus, red apple ice plant, queen palms, etc. and Advertisement

are for sale," explained Stokes. "All are welcome to come view this exhibition as it is a celebration of the land, in a way."

An opening reception will be held Sat., July 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Café des Artistes, 103 S. Main Ave. (at the rear entrance of the Fallbrook Art Center). The restaurant will offer dinner that evening. The art show will continue through Aug. 31.
