It's very sad that people are still killing people because of their color. This is not the 60s anymore, but I guess Fallbrook is still trying to catch up to the modern world. I believe everything starts at home from parents. Parents, it's time to step up and raise our kids to love and respect eachother. Not go off and kill people because they're black or white or purple or pink. That's in the stone age now...now we must work together to make this city/state/country a better place for our kids. It's not about us anymore, we are not the future. Our kids are the future.

What makes this not a hate crime as well? I and others would like to know if the FVN could investigate that aspect of this case and report back on that. MANY people feel this was a racially-motivated, gang-related murder. Why did they kill Kenny as they did? Why was he selected out as he was? The information that is continuing to go around is that he was a black male staying in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood where there is heavy gang presence, who are a problem. There has also been gang presence all over the place in the surrounding areas. Kenny's girlfriend is Latina. Kenny is not the first black person (and their friends and family) to be harassed, terrorized, and attacked in that locale and nearby. This abuse and violence has not always happened behind the scenes, it has taken place for years right in plain sight, plain view, including in the McDonald's parking lot and front, on that hill behind it, as well as at apartment buildings and on sidewalks on Old Stage and South Vine, as well as at a school bus stop on Old Stage, and further radiating out. All encompassing racially-motivated violence. While it is absolutely wonderful that those selfish, vile perpetrators have been arrested and charged as such, there is one key element that seems to still not be recognized in the equation: Kenny was killed because he was black and his attackers didn't like that, especially on their so-called turf, nor did they accept the fact that he was dating a Hispanic woman. The perpetrators played judge and jury. Whether it meets the official legal definition of a hate crime in California or not, this was still a despicable, disgusting, senseless murder filled with and fueled by individual and collective hate. May the criminal justice system judge throw the book down hard at Kenny's killers.

And they should all minimally get life behind bars for taking the life of another as knowingly and savagely as they did. They deprived Kenny of his young life, and they have deprived Kenny's family and friends of his earthly presence. There was conscious intent and hate in the killers' deadly actions. Let them spend the rest of their lives behind bars thinking about what they did and the painful damage and destruction they have caused so many people.

I was born in this country, as was my mother, my grandparents, and their parents before them. Before that, their parents came from Mexico. So if someone asks if I've Mexican, I tell them no, I'm a 4th generation American of Mexican descent. There isn't a hyphen attached to American. As soon as people stop hyphenating what they are, maybe people will stop looking at color. Now if you're born in Mexico, great, you're Mexican. First I would like to send condolences to the family of Kenneth Mose. My thoughts and Prayers are with them at this very sad time.
Fallbrook doesn't like to think that there is a gang problem here but there is. I unfortunately live in the area where this senseless crime was committed and see first hand how these gang members act. The sad thing is there's a group of kids that are now imatating them by bullying and hitting other children and their parents don't do a thing about it.
Also this isn't the first incident concerning defendant Ramos where he was involved with trying to beat up an African American and the victim had to defend himself by shooting at Ramos. This is all public knowledge and it happened almost in the same exact place. Three of the four defendants came from the same place of residence. Why hasn't that establishment done anything to get rid of them before? Maybe INS should do a sweep ?

As a community, I can see that the murder of Kenny Mose has affected us all very deeply. It seems that everyone here agrees that a real change is needed to make Fallbrook a safe place to live again. I went to Albertsons 4 evenings ago about 8:30pm. There were very few cars in the lot, and l was a bit nervous but had to pick up an RX before they closed. I looked for a security gaurd and there was not one in sight. That shopping center above all needs visible security. Then I became angry. Why do we have to have any fear going to our local store just because it's dark?? Our community should not have to live like this. Indeed, a change is needed!! How and where do we start? I am willing to do my part as all of you are. But, where is the starting point? How do we make it clear for all to see that Fallbrook will not tolerate these types of crimes or the monsters that commit them??
