Fallbrook man arrested today in connection with Carlsbad break-in

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
Issue 35, Volume 14.

CARLSBAD - A second man suspected of involvement in a violent Carlsbad break-in last month was arrested today in Fallbrook, police said.

Jose Ramirez, 19, was taken into custody just before 7 a.m. in the 1000 block of Vanita Street, said Carlsbad police Sgt. Mickey Williams.

On July 24, Ramirez and Robert Aldrete, 21, allegedly broke into a house belonging to Aldrete's neighbor in the 3400 block of Clear Cliff Court and battered the resident, Williams said.

Aldrete, who was stabbed during the altercation, was arrested at a hospital that night, but Ramirez escaped, the sergeant said.

Williams said investigators learned Ramirez was Aldrete's alleged accomplice, and an arrest warrant charging him with robbery, grand theft and battery was issued two weeks ago.

Ramirez was being held at the Vista Detention Facility with bail set at $50,000 bail. No further information has been released yet.

So is it safe to assume that Mr. Ramirez's country of origin will not be checked for fear of violating his civil rights?
God bless this country, for it's only here, that someone can enter our country, commit a violent crime and be allowed all the perks that go with being a criminal.
i.e. 3 meals a day, a cot, public defender (who speaks spanish) and a liberal judge who will likely set Mr. Ramirez free, because of a technicality?
Just sayin?

Juan, of course his country of orgin will not be checked. What do you think he is, and american?

Americans are the only ones in America, that have to produce and id, drivers license, etc. when asked.

But remember, he and all is family, are only here to work and make a better living.

I don't consider robbing, etc.. work, but hey, if our politicians consdider that a "hard days work", then how do we expect them to actually enforce Immigration laws.

God Bless the family that these 2 "hard working individuals" violated.

Well, in all fairness I have to say that the fact that he has an Hispanic name doesn't necessarily mean he is here illegally....

Guess my last comment (s) plural, although mild in nature were censored once again so I'll repeat it.

Chilly: Ever consider the residents of Fallbrook are just getting tired with the same old crime and with the same old names. Every week we pick up this paper and read what amounts to be the menu at Albertos, it's either Hector robbed this or Juan broke into that. You want to eliminate the stench, clean up the garbage and even the flies will leave.

Pink: Did anyone run this clown through the SDSO and the "who is in jail" site to see if there was an (I) hold on this joker? In addition, if 45 people in a cell unit out of 50 at Vista Detention are Hispanic, I think it would be safe to make the assumption in your comment #9.

Ray, he may very well be here illegally but just because he is hispanic doesn't mean that he necessarily is. There are unfortunately plenty of hispanic criminals living here who were born here. And before people start going crazy calling me racist, which I am not, there are also plenty of caucasian criminals here as well.

Pink: People calling you a racist? Your not qualified, trust me. I can deal with American trash, why the need to import it from Mexico, but facts are facts, people who break the law tend to continue the process and coming here illegally is breaking the law.

As far as my research goes, Ramirez did not have an (I) hold and made bail, but he could have used a fake name.
