FALLBROOK – The new Rotary District Governor and Fallbrook resident, Dave Breeding, presented a program at Fallbrook Village Rotary Club’s meeting on Aug. 3. This is one of the first times, if ever, that District 5340 has had a District Governor from Fallbrook.

"It is a distinct honor to have Mr. Breeding as our District Governor," Village Rotary Past President Steve Achard said.

Breeding has been a Rotarian since 1998, when he joined the Fallbrook club. He took an immediate interest in Rotary and its international works when he saw a bumper sticker on the Advertisement

[ Chatton and Associates ] car, belonging to his sponsor, Mike Reeves, that said: "Good-Bye Polio, Thanks Rotary."

Breeding has a personal interest in eliminating polio, as his mother is a polio survivor. His address to the club was about the eradication of polio and the ways in which Rotary funds the eradication. Rotary has taken on the mission of polio eradication worldwide almost single handedly for a number of years. Rotary has now partnered with the Gates Foundation on a matching grant basis to eradicate polio. Rotary is pushing to meet the Gates challenge, and hopes meet it.
