Translate this page Gang shooting injures one on South VineThursday, August 12th, 2010 Issue 32, Volume 14.
According to Sheriff’s detective Jim Pucillo, a group of individuals were walking on South Vine at approximately 10:15 p.m. when a lowered Honda with tinted windows drove up to the individuals and made a 90-degree turn. Suspects inside the vehicle began shooting at the victims, spraying the area with .45 caliber rounds and hitting another vehicle. Pucillo stated a bullet hit one individual in the leg, going completely through. "The victim was lucky that the bullet didn’t hit any major arteries. These are pretty powerful bullets," said Pucillo. "The bullet went through the leg, and the victim was able to Advertisement The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle. Pucillo stated that witnesses in the area and the victims did not give a clear description of the vehicle, only saying that the vehicle had chrome rims. Individuals near a local gas station and fast food restaurant heard the shooting and called authorities. According to witnesses, the individuals may have been affiliated with Vista gangs. Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron McCracken stated there "may be a possibility" that the suspects were Vista gang members. "The two gangs have been going back and forth with each other, but had never used a gun," said McCracken. If anyone has any information pertinent to this incident, call the Sheriff’s substation at (760) 451-3100.

I was told, by the sheriffs office, in this paper, that there is no gang problem in Fallbrook. Anybody else remember that? Anyone who has been in Falbrook more than 5 minutes could have told you they were wrong. When's the next gang sweep, Sheriffs?
Moldy Frejoles..... What's going on folks? Lt. Bilko, two gangs in Fallbrook? Yeah right. Questions regarding Arizona's law? Just more "tan klan" nonsense.
"The two gangs have been going back and forth with each other, but had never used a gun," said McCracken. Wasn't a 13 year old boy just shot and killed back in March by Vista gang members?
SDSO: No confidence vote.
what is the persons name that got shot?
person: Juan Valdez, who knows, does it really matter. Everyone knows who and what he was. I vision over 100 responses to this story. Everyone take your racist name calling immunization, the names are coming.
Why was the victim "just" released? I wondered if he was questioned by authorities? If somebody comes looking for me to shoot me, I'm pretty sure I'd know who and why... I call for "Gang Sweep"
To me, it seems that the "Fallbrook gang" is not using guns, it would be the retaliating gangs that can't seem to represent with fist and now is using the simple way to shoot them up. The simple way is now endangering everyone, and that needs to be a HIGH priority for the sheriff department. Why are they not constantly petrolling this street? staking out? How can a Lower Honda with tinted windows be driving around at 10 PM on a Saturday without being noticed and maybe followed for awhile for safety reasons, a "JUST because" reason? Depending on the age of these individual, walking down a well known gang area at 10:15 PM, what about the curfew that is supposedly in effect? I think that instead of the SDSD doing the talk, talk, they should all be doing the JOB. It's a small town, can it be to much to ask for some protection from the ones that are here and applied to serve and protect? And Ray... Comment #6, " does it really matter", not to compassionate there are you? But got to say you made me laugh with the, " racist calling immunization". That was great.
momz: Reading these stories is like watching the same movie one hundred times. The actors are the same and the story does not change so even the most compassionate person can be worn down by this nonsense. I read papers all over the country on a daily basis and this story is like a xerox copy of a dozen others today, YAWN! But remember, I have been saying this for years now about Fallbrook and gangs. Just last week, I made a comment about getting mugged or catching a stray round while walking outside, oh well. ![]()
momz; Nothing in Fallbrook excites me anymore, it's the same old dung, different day. Now if an alien came to Fallbrook saying "take me to your leader" I would get a rise, but the only aliens we get are ones carrying five children and a case of beer. ![]()
I figured out a way to eliminate the socalled "racial bias" when commenting on these types of stories. Fallbrook needs to import other ethnic gangs to balance out and diversify the gang community. Let's put out a help wanted advertisement in some Los Angeles area papers saying "small town in San Diego county, looking to diversify it's gang problem, all ethnic groups need to apply, EEOC". By doing this, the hispanic gangs that now dominate Fallbrook will not be singled out.
Ray.. comment #9, I agree with you, was being sarcastic in my comment "does it matter" as in same thing, different day. comment #10, I just figure if an alien came to Fallbrook and asked to be taken to my leader, I would just direct them to the local welfare office.
@momz, would that be a legal or illegal alien?
momz: The welfare office on Alvarado, you definately need to speak spanish there, but I can only assume aliens of higher intelligence would know to carry an alien to spanish translation book. ![]()
Daniel R: I can assume if the alien came here without following the proper procedures, they would be considered illegal aliens but if they do come, it will only be a few not the 30 million we get from everywhere else. I would appreciate an alien with higher intelligence visiting Fallbrook, can't say much for the ones we have now.
Daniel R, my comment # 12 is in response to comment #10, I'm sure you can figure it out... some how... LOL ![]()
Ray.. comment # 14 To FUNNY... but probably true...LOL
Come on people, loosen it up. I was just being sarcastic on my previous comment....
Daniel R: We are loose, can't you tell by our comments about this stupid story. Live long and prosper... FBVN: Stupid meaning gang crime as usual not how it's written. ![]()
It's really sad situation. When I moved to Fallbrook, you still could see people riding horses past El Toro on West Mission Road, even though it was downtown, it still was nice until "the invaders" arrived. Than I moved to central Fallbrook, "the invaders" came again leaving in their path slum like conditions, filth, crime, violence and smells of every variety of farm animal known to every pueblo on their planet, than I moved out of Fallbrook to a land far, far away where "the invaders" have not arrived. Soon they will come bringing their lower form of life with them and once again it's off to yet another land where the air smells clean, you can walk the streets and feel good about your life and community. Those far away lands are vanishing fast, I thought Fallbrook was one of those, not anymore, "they have arrived".
Folks really this is just the beginning, there have been gangs since the beginning of time the real people to blame here is our cops poor policing. I see them in town hanging out at 7-11 all the time . I have even asked them to beef up patrols around my neighborhood, they are aware of the situation here but fail to act. We need some aggressive policing done around here to show that they do not but up with these activities here. Things will only get worse with the status of the economy look at crime statistics. When people are out of work they begin stealing and selling drugs. You see it in the paper vehicle thefts are up?????
Invaders??? hahahahahaha small brain and very little light.
Daniel R.... I made sure I put LOL, I'm sure you figured it out quickly ;) Lazzboy... comment #21, 100% agree with you.
Yes its the cops fault! When somebody commits a crime its never the fault of the perpetrator but always the fault of the police. After all aren't these poor little gang bangers just victims of an unjust society........puh-LEESE!!
Ray are you talking about the amish people in comment #20??? or people like you???
Gay bonsall guy, there are evil people out there if you haven't noticed puh leeez not all of of cant be as kind as you or we wouldn't have to worry about cops. But since society isn't groomed like a bunch of alter boys we must enforce the laws that we created and since we have poor policing we have increased crime rates. Come on guy I work in a large metropolitan city where crime runs rampid from now and again so all they do is play politics and beef up the force ( figured you would like the description) and then crime goes down. Wow what a concept. But if you haven't noticed our cops are doing a lousy job therefore crime is up along with their uniform size.
Lazzboy, I love it!!! " Crime is up, Along with their uniform size" LMAO!!! But so true.. I noticed last night we had the Vista sheriff patrols out in about in Fallbrook. Maybe they know what they are suppose to be doing, did not see 1 Fallbrook sheriff at all.

I have a question for Sheriff Bill Gore, maybe the FBVN can get this information. What is the total current inmate population in our county jails, and how many of those detainees currently have an ICE hold. Simple question, nothing racial about the request, just how many. At present, Sheriff Bill Gore will not answer this very simple yet basic question per my request, maybe a publication might have better luck. Inquiring readers just might like to know.
Ray(the real one)You WHAT words cant even explain what you are ...your wrong with what you say if it wasnt for the 30 million like you say, what would become of you .. your not even half a man compare to us you wouldnt handle doing the stuff we do.. plus we basically make the world go round .. Think about it who pick the fresh fruit,WHO works at nursery,WHO are willin to work for 8 lousey dollars,WHO maintence your apartment COMPLAEX,House,Your business Ext. We CONTRUCTION,PAVE, SEAL, ANYTHING YOU NAME IT WE CAN DO ANYTHING WITH US ITS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH.WE LIKE TO PERFECT AT WE DO.. SO ENOUGH ABOUT THAT SO RAY WHY DO YOU HATE OUR RACE SO MUCH,WAS IT CAUSE YOUR THE TYPE THAT WOULD GET PUNKED AND BEAT UP .. WELL GUESS WHAT WHEN WE ALL DIE WHAT IN HAVEN DO THEY DIVIDE US MEXICAN WITH THE MEXICAN, WHITE WITH WHITE,EXT.. WITH GOOD THERE IS NO DIFFERNTSTS THINK ABOUT IT .. MAY BE ONE DAY ONE OF THE 30 MILLION COULD SAVE YOU LIFE ... UNITED YEAH REALLY UNITED
to Lazzboy, comment#26: Thank you for correcting me! Here I was operating under the false impression that a surging crime rate might be associated with other factors not related to police enforcement. How silly of me to think that record breaking high unemployment, the disappearance of low skilled entry level jobs, people who birth children left and right and who have not the resources, time or inclination to raise them and a continuing displacement of Latin America's lowest socio-economic classes into this country might be in any way related. Well anyway, I now stand corrected; it's entirely the fault of the police.
Please answer Rays question for all of us. I would very much like to know. It should not be a secret "Sheriff Bill Gore, maybe the FBVN can get this information. What is the total current inmate population in our county jails, and how many of those detainees currently have an ICE hold. Simple question, nothing racial about the request, just how many? " FBVN way cant you get the info? Is it to sensative for you to handle?
UNITED MY ***: didn't see grammar on your list. ![]()
Tony: Using Los Angeles County Statistics I got from Sheriff Leroy Baca, it's approximately 38% but it varies due to releases to ICE and other factors, I am sure San Diego County has about the same percentages. I can understand Los Angeles County, The only thing forged more than social security cards and California drivers licesnses in Mexico are Greyhound bus tickets to Los Angeles. ![]()
BonsallGayGuy: Both of you are correct actually. It's the police and it's other factors you mentioned. But I will only address the law enforcement part for now. Fallbrook has had a time honored tradition of receiving the left overs and rejects. Since I lived in Fallbrook, we have had no less than FIVE commanders running Fallbrook, the last, Dominguez was placed here to coast until retirement, I am sure Burst judging by his age is coasting also than we have our deputies, most of which are fresh out of detention, with big chips on their shoulders, All the good ones like Vrabel and that short AA deputy have long since gone, I know the AA deputy now works Division #7 in Vista. Fallbrook is on the bottom of the resource list, a commander who "snows" everyone and deputies who practically vanish into thin air, you never see them but I have been saying this since 2003, just go to the archives, nothing changes.
Ray (the real one) may I just ask why you are so disgruntled? Isn't it possible that not every mexican person is that horrible? I'm not trying to be mean but why are you so unhappy?
Patty: I am happy, I just give the blind a chance to see and seems your still blind. Do you live in town? Just asking because so many Fallbrook residents who comment about my posts usually live in "da hills" never coming to relaity, opting for Temecula for their daily business. I try to "inform" people on the "real" Fallbrook, the one you and most "never" see. Read my links. Travel in town. Than ask me again.
Law enforcement is very important, but it is only part of an overall solution; too many people still think L.E. is responsible for everything and anything at all times. Society's problems that we are seeing and hearing about are deep, wide, multi-faceted, and cumulative. It is not fair or helpful to just sit there, point fingers, and blame one person or one agency for the world's ills, nor every local ill. As a 10-year-plus homeowner here, while things assuredly haven't been an ideal world--some aspects having improved, while others clearly still needing more attention and fine-tuning, if not a complete tossing overboard--I have witnessed a variety of great efforts and actions made by members of the Sheriff's Department. I also hear about such from other people. This includes up to present date. Certainly by no means are those deputies and others what they've been so rudely referred to by one newspaper article commenter as "left overs and rejects" (Real Ray) and by another as the Fallbrook deputies not knowing what they're doing (Momz). And Momz, because you see other law enforcement at times at work in Fallbrook, it does not mean that Fallbrook deputies are deficient and someone else has come out to take their place. If you spot a unit from Vista or Oceanside, it could be because they're part of a larger, unified effort, a multi-agency team in action, such as the Gang Task Force or another special project. There's your gang raid and then some. The Fallbrook deputies are at work as well. And get real, it's incorrect in stating that if you want to find a Sheriff in Fallbrook, go to Starbucks or 7-11 any time. Just as with other full-time jobs (and they're on 12-hour shifts, I believe it is), you are afforded by law as part of your employment a lunch/dinner time and other breaks. At least if the deputies are on a break or time-to-time grabbing some quick coffee over at Starbucks in Albertson's or at 7-11 at Main and Fallbrook Street, I'm among the appreciative that they're right close by when, once again, another group fight breaks out or rock/bottle or pellet gun attack occurs, perhaps even a stabbing, takes place at the fast food restaurant(s) around the way. They're there quickly when rival gang members decide to drive up South Vine and start shooting. How about when fires have been intentionally set in the immediate area, threatening our homes and businesses, as well as lives? The deputies and others get right out there. The Albertson's/CVS parking lot and stores in that particular complex have had multiple crime-related problems, so if a deputy or two are about, even for a short while, be grateful as you shop. Reality is, instead of at Starbucks and 7-11, you'll most often find the deputies on patrol and on calls and making other interventions throughout Fallbrook and Bonsall. Fortunately, this includes their being seen regularly in our challenged neighborhood and surrounding parts--at watch and at work on keeping everyone safer.
says Ray at post 36 - Fallbrook has had a time honored tradition of receiving the left overs and rejects... than we have our deputies, most of which are fresh out of detention, with big chips on their shoulders... so... you have mentioned this time after time. So, Ray, why do we always get the leftovers and rejects, or the guys/gals with chips on their shoulders? What is your definition of these terms and what is your uncanny insights as to why this must be? We realize your opinion (which is what it is) has nothing to do with the "false arrest" at the Fallbrook Hospital which you served probation on, so hopefully we will all be inclined to ponder your privileged information and/or knowledge on this subject without bias on our own part... By the way, Ray. what did those two MIA deputies do to warrant any positive (?) recognition from you? Did they straight out kiss your butt, or just generally patronize you. Just curious as to what they did that so many others - then and now have failed you with. Anyhow (on topic) - sounds like dirt on dirt (Fallbrook vs. Vista) for sure. Could it be that the boys here will grow a pair and dish out a little payback (down there). Time will tell...
I am glad that law enforcement is finally admitting and documenting gun usage in this town. My husband was an eye witness to a gang shooting a while back and the Sherrif just didn't want to hear about it and said that the noise was a bat hitting a windshield. The gang members could be heard repeatedly, "Don't f*** with Fallbrook". And they had their usual attire- long white socks, white tennis shoes, long and baggy shorts etc. Oh, I am sorry, that is discrimination. This whole discrimination thing is bull. We all do it and should. It may save your life.
It is a darn shame that local gang members can hang out at the Carls jr. during dinner time and make people feel so uncomfortable that they take their food to go. This happened to us recently. We also were at Rite Aid at 7 pm and were approached by drunken locals. We will not go into town anymore in the evenings. We will drive to Temecula for eating out and shopping after dark. There is a good police force.
Hey Ray, I got some links too. I'm sure you've visited these pages already and share its views... http://www.johnnyleeclary.com/files/page.php?p=159 http://www.resist.com/
Daniel R: I actually know Johnny Lee Clary, nice guy, reformed racist and assisted in the investigation of the Oklahoma city bombing. Used to date Howe, the government snitch. Many black leaders think very highly of Johnny Lee. As for Tom Metzger, nicest guy I ever met. Actuall paid his computer repair bills and even stayed with my mother while I had to be in San Diego for an important issue. Used to sell used cars purchased from auto auctions to low income people, even hispanics. Running for Congress in Indiana, could win. Your "dig" didn't hit, take it back to the school yard. wildheart: CHP has a policy. No more than TWO officers taking their breaks at the same location. Now when you see FOUR deputies clutching at let's say 7-11 for a half hour, you kind of wonder. Besides it's different when your a townie, where do you live? Pessimistic: I have been commenting on the SDSO years before March 2, 2009, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Nice try, another shot deflected.
Thought you would think that about Metzger...Sadly we don't share the same view about him.
Ray: I dont live in town. I didnt realize it was that bad. I checked out your links - I'm sorry I ever judged you. For the longest time reading your comments I thought you were just a mean, unhappy person.
Wildheart, when I see it I will believe it... I live in town, so I see probably more then you may, and I'm keeping my opinion. I hope when or if a day ever comes and you need to be protected or helped that you can rely on the Fallbrook Sheriff Department. Watch the time it may take them AWHILE to get there, hopefully in time....
Am a southside townie homeowner currently, for the last 10+ years, Ray.
Daniel R: Opinions vary.
Daniel R: "WE"? Many folks in town liked Metzger. You must mean "we" as in the hispanic population, I can imagine what Metzger would say, "who cares about what latrinos think". Wildheart: North side, where all the action is.
Okay, Ray Ray, I took a puff just to patronize you. Now will you patronize some of us and expound upon your comments of which I posed questions? Put up, or shut up, my daddy use to say...
I answered your question, should be enough. BTW we have a new commander in Fallbrook. FIVE in FIVE years. That should explain enough.
Ray: Oh we have had--and continue to have--more than our fair share of negative things that impact lives and living. Fortunately, we also have some people who care about what is going on, helping to turn things around wherever they can. This includes members of the Sheriff's Department as well as others. The perpetrator his or her self ultimately accounts for the bottom line, and what can add to in to the mix for some, negligent, selfish slumlords like we have throughout this area--providing playgrounds for criminal behavior. Slumlords who are right up there in needing to be held more accountable and responsible not only to their tenants but to the community. More often than not, it's not even their own home community. Out of sight, out of mind, except when it comes time to collect those rent checks and cash. Sadly, this type of thing has proved contagious here in Fallbrook, just as it has in other parts.
wildheart: I agree, I lived in one of those last year on Elbrook. My landlord rented to everyone who answered his FBVN advertisement. While moving in a resident in one of his tenants took my entire record collection, thirty nine years of collecting gone. Than because he didn't want to spend money, he rented to every felon, crack head and low life who applied, evictions mounted, disrepair mounted until I got tired and moved. That is why I think the county should create bisiness licenses in the unincorporated areas of the county, Gives the county more power to shut down the complexes by revoking their permission to do business and put some bite into current laws, maybe when these landlords have their pockets picked or spend a few days in jail, things might change, not holding breath. I also believe, no bank account, current "legal" identification, no apartment. but the ACLU might disagree with me on that.
vista again really jus dont know wen to stop ridicoulous
I FEEL SO BAD FOR THE KID GOPE U GOOD LUCK MAN AND PARENTS
This is why we lovingly refer to Fallbrook as BeanerBrook. I
