Issue 29, Volume 14.

FALLBROOK – The "Wheels of Desire 3" motorcycle show opened July 10 at the Fallbrook Art Center, with a crowd of about 150 motorcycle enthusiasts in attendance. The show, which will run daily through Aug. 15, features 39 motorcycles dating from the late 1890’s through 2009. The show is also part of a larger Fallbrook Motorfest that will take place August 7th from 11am to 5pm on Main Avenue in Fallbrook.

Greg MacDonald, a Fallbrook motorcycle collector, curated the show and wrote histories of the bikes along with personal anecdotes from their owners. Jim Swan, a retired motorcycle dealer in Chicago now living in Fallbrook and a Fallbrook Arts Board member, brought in Monster Energy Drink’s Motocross Kawasaki Team bikes.

The crowd was especially pleased to meet "Monster Man" Mark Hall and the "Monster Girls," another benefit of the Art Center’s Advertisement

connections with accomplished and celebrated persons within the community.

"I was particularly pleased to have Miss Fallbrook and her lovely court present to mingle with the guests, owners, and sponsors," said Executive Director Mary Perhacs.

The show’s assembly of bikes provides a trip back in history and to fantasyland for motorcycle enthusiasts. In addition to the outstanding motorcycles, people can view related art works such as vintage racing t-shirts and photographs.

The show continues daily Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays noon to 3 p.m. Fallbrook Art Center is located at 103 South Main. For information, visit www.fallbrookartcenter.org or call (760) 728-1414.

The Fallbrook Motorfest on August 7th from is being hosted by the Historic Downtown Merchants and will include four live bands, beer and wine gardens, restored Porsches, drifter cars, motorcycles, and vintage cars.
