FALLBROOK – June 20 was a lucky day for Nadine Roberts as the Escondido resident’s $5 drawing ticket was plucked from the jar of more than 200 tickets. She was awarded the 1974 Wurlitzer Americana Jukebox valued at more than $4,000.

Marilyn Carnes, the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary’s treasurer, was at Fallbrook Trading Company where the jukebox has been displayed over the past two months, when the winner was announced.

"All of us at the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary would like to publicly and sincerely thank Carol Hanson for donating the proceeds from Advertisement

the drawing for this beautiful jukebox to the sanctuary," Carnes said. "We’re also grateful to Stacy Riggs of the Fallbrook Trading Company for displaying the jukebox at her business."

Carol Hanson of Hanson Palms, who donated proceeds from the drawing to the animal sanctuary, said, "by doing a drawing for the jukebox, anyone who bought a ticket had a chance to win something very valuable and nostalgic for just the few dollars for a ticket. At the same time they were helping to save the lives of abandoned dogs and cats in Fallbrook."
