Rosanne Musser Dawson

Rosanne Musser Dawson died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in Fallbrook, Calif. She was born April 28, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shortly afterward the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where Rosanne grew up.

During World War II she met and married Warren Dawson, a civilian worker at Pacific Naval Air base. After the war he established his business in custom-cabinetmaking and in 1957 the family moved to California, where Rosanne earned her teaching credentials and taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

In 1987 both retired to Fallbrook, where Rosanne joined several service organizations including the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary, Fallbrook Women’s Club, American Association of University Women and the Angel Society. She was a lifelong member of the LDS church and belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also enjoyed playing Mah Jong with the Fallbrook Dragons.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Warren; their daughters and son-in-law Kathleen Walker, Arcadia, Calif., Geneva and Lonnie Yett, Yucaipa, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Gabi Dawson, Laguna Hills, Calif., David and Paula Dawson, San Pedro, Calif., Mark and Carol Dawson, La Canada, Calif. and Peter Dawson, Arcadia, Calif.; as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Other survivors include her sister Marjorie Say, Vancouver, Wash., and brothers Joseph Musser, Encinitas, Calif. and Daniel Musser, Portland, Ore.
