The monthly meeting of Save Our Southwest Hills will be held Thursday, March 18 at 7 p.m. at Rancho California Water District at 42135 Winchester Rd Attorney Ray Johnson will be speaking about the bills (SB 1010 and AB 1805) that threaten the future of the existing "California Environmental Quality Act."

Another, "lighter," subject will be the award being presented to the movie, "Avatar" and its writer and director, James Cameron, the "Temecula Environmental Award for Outstanding Social responsibility in Media" in September during the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival." Several groups bestow this honor on Cameron, including the Santa Margarita Group of the Sierra Club, the Endangered Habitats League, Save Our Southwest Hills, and Rainbow Against The quarry.
