Back in the days of Proposition #187, teachers and schools wanted it both ways, smaller class sizes, more money and to reject their duties as Americans by reporting illegal aliens. Despite what the "open borders" Bund might say, Proposition #187 was "not defeated by the courts, but let to die on the vine by Gray Davis. I am sure if it went all the way through the courts to the "top court" this country would be a far different place. You can't expect people to pay for illegal aliens going to our schools "free of charge". now some might say "the children of illegal aliens are citizens, I disagree. The constitutional amendment they hold so dear was to repatriot slaves after the civil war during reconstruction, says nothing about border hoppers or their offspring. Now since Proposition #13, everything the other side said came true, shame tjhese educators didn't have a time machine back than, so all I can say is you get what you deserve, larger class sizes, less in wages, schools in disrepair, layoffs, and diminished test scores of your students who flood the schools with limited or no english. More people of means are taking their children out of public schools and enrolling them in private schools because they actually want their children to learn something, lacking in public schools today. So whine if you must but "I TOLD YOU SO".

Get rid of teachers unions and hold teachers accountable. In a few years, you will see results. Lets use the Private Schools as an example.

WOW Mr. Ray thanks for the support to your community!!! Get a life obviously you’re a bitter white racist man. People like you create negative environment in our community maybe you should consider moving to another state that is not so close to the border since it makes you so upset. That’s no way to live. Every time I long on to see what’s going on in town for some reason you always have an illegal immigrant issue to bring up. News flash it is not the illegal immigrant issue that has California in this rout or for that matter the rest of the county. May God bless you and I hope you take my advice for your sake and the rest of Fallbrook who hate this kind of garbage from people like your self.

To # 3 Yes Yes yes the illegal alien issues and cost are bankrupting our beautiful state. Ray is correct in what he said. You are just too young and idealistic to comprehend. You might be one of the stats Ray is referring to in sending your children to private schools if the illegal invasion does not stop. Again the rights of English speaking us citizens are compromised because of illegal aliens. We transfer out because of the dummying down of FUHS. Most of the courses are geared for the ESL as opposed to honor /AP courses.
If I cannot transfer out than FUSD should have to require all students to provide documentation of US citizenship or legal residency. Let’s be fair about this. If you require proof the illegal will leave and classes will once again be geared towards English speaking students. I’m fed up. Our kids only get one shot at each grade and 4 years of high flies by fast.
Best of luck to us all.

I agree with parent of 3. Get the illegals out of our schools and improvement and cash will come. People of means have ability to leave, which they are doing, leaving the rest of us to deal with the illegals. It sort of like adverse selection. FUHS will continue to decline in Anglo population and ranking until the illegal issue is confronted. Its a shame, tax paying home owners are leaving and illegals are in. If I could leave I would. This is Fallbrook not TJ

Let’s get something straight Ray is not an economist or has any idea how our state budget functions. He blames his life’s problems on undocumented individuals since he is a senior citizen still living with his mother and never leaving the small village of Fallbrook. Jim Yahr is a great person that cares for all students at FUHSD and his actions have proven that in many occasions. Let’s start blaming ourselves since we elected a steroid movie star as our governor who qualifies to be an ESL student, since he cannot pronounce any English words correctly. So I leave you with this, “Don’t be economic girlie men” (Schwarzenegger). lol

Maybe if the soccer moms and art freaks of this town weren't so busy raising money for stupid stuff like that eyesore "The Happies", maybe we could find more money for kids. Those metal atrocities that look like dogs peeing on each other aren't putting much needed supplies and books into the hands of our kids.

Also, how about cutting the administrators salaries and put some of that money back into the schools. People like superintendents that make six figures and do nothing but push pencils and delegate, while the teachers who only make about a third of that are expected to preform miracles out of thin air.

Hey, let's give this a try. Require all students to prove they are legally here. If you can't prove citizenship or green card or student visa (etc) then you DO NOT get to attend school. Let's see how the enrollment drops and test scores go up. Hmmm, just an idea.

Kyle: I am not Jewish either but you seem to miss the latest reports on how much Californians are paying to educate "border hoppers". I have no life problems, in actuality, I have a better life than you do since I don't have something growing out of my ..... you know. I am a senior citizen? I didn't think 49 qualifies me as a senior citizen. What I reject is these "bubble heads" and their "cheap shots" because I don't watch "Maddow" or "Olberman". Let's face it, I tell the truth, what bothers some "progressives" and our "coffee with cream" president is that you know it, what I say resonates but your scared to agree. Don't worry, I won't tell.

Kyle: A story appeared in the Daily Breeze today. One quarter of welfare payments in California go to children of illegal aliens which means that illegal aliens receive welfare, a fact the MALDEF'S and LULAC'S don't want you to hear. You can assume that the same applies to our schools and judging by the hue of Fallbrook schools, chances are I am correct. As I stated before, it would take three Maie Ellis sized schools just to keep up with the "invasion" within the next five years and where would this money come from? Since you say I am no economist, just a businessman who knows about finance, it comes from your tax dollars which pay for bonds that build the schools. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out a budget, I think just about anyone could do better than the clowns in Sacramento.

lol really? you are blaming illegal aliens for this too? hahaha, you sir need to stop. i agree fallbrook is not the same as it was 10 years ago but hey its changing times. the reason we have price cuts is because of the senators who get 6 figure salaries in Sacramento!!!! honestly geez, mexicans are not the cause of all your problems. its those senators, Arnold, and Obama to blame for this economic crisis that is affecting us...

The elephant in the room is the fact that Fallbrook has two school districts: Fallbrook Elementary School district and Fallbrook High School district. Imagine the savings by combining each district's administrative staff into one. Hundreds of thousands if not millions per year in savings could be realized. Simple business folks.

Ha ha most of the us mexicans are smarter then others so just because they don't have papers were not going to say they can't attend school because their dumb. And now you guys want to go in discrimination and what do they tell you at school? No discriminating and judging people just by their color or race. What happened to that

Ray, I'm pretty sure you are in no position to tell anyone they suck. I attend FHS and I for one have had some amazing teachers and have had the chance to know some really great students of all races. I am a teacher aide for one class filled with spanish speaking students.(Sounds like your own personal nightmare) Many of whom came from Mexico just this year. Sorry I'm not ignorant and can see the determination of these students and how intelligent they are. You know because I grade their papers and all.. All of you more experienced "grown ups" need to get your head out of your rear. Maybe get a hobby like collecting stamps. Not too crazy for those of you 49ers getting ready to put on your depends

Hey: Than pay for these students yourself, don't ask us to. That is the problem with schools today, it's like sending your kids to a prestegious and expensive private school only to find it filled with remedial students. Our scgools are "dummed down" by people who attend that have no right to be here in the first place. I have a hobby, America, Americans and American children first and foremost. Problem with you teachers, your elitists, wanting it both ways, well when you pay for it, than you have that right, since I do, the right is mine.

Hey, you may not realize it but you are proving Rays point. The new Mexican students who just arrived into your class are most likely illegal. Why should we law abiding citizens pay for the educational needs of law breakers and their children? Look at the statistics about the number of crimes, rapes dui are illegal and the large percentage of them are getting free medical care art our expense. I commend your idealism but once you become a home owner and parent you become a realist. We can no longer afford to be a welfare state to the illegal. Why cannot your school ask for proof of citizenship as criteria to be taught in Fallbrook schools? I have no problem with the Legal population; it’s the illegal that bothers everyone. We are not raciest just realist.

I do agree for the most part that there are alot of undocumented students going to Fallbrook and that has a lot to do with the fiscal crisis that is going on there, but at the same time I think we should also be looking at the administration as well as the the teachers. I have been to the school, I have a senior at Fallbrook, and have heard and seen for myself that there are teachers that will stop in the middle of class to text someone back, answer personnal phone call's on their cell's and just leave to go "get something from the office" only to be found fooling (you know what I mean) around with a fellow teacher. There are teachers that instead of removing talkitive, rude students, they get sent the back of the class, or told to just listen to you Ipod while the others have to deal with the distraction. I somewhat disagree with the notion that illegals are dummying down our school, its a little of everyone. My daughter is a 4.12 student, but when asked simple goverment questions could not answer, and these questions were from the text book on stuff that they cover, so when I ask why, I get the "inbetween the texting and phone call's he (the teacher, ask you student, if he has a male goverment teacher at Fallbrook, they will know exactly who it is) usually has the TA go over the stuff while he does his "I got to take this call/text" stuff. I am not saying that all teachers are like this, most are not, but if found to be like this and underachieving then they should be let go. Standing bye to get blasted by the bleeding hearts...

Sorry I couldn't respnd sooner. I actually have a life.. But anyway Ray I'm not asking you for sh##! If you don't like it. MOVE far far away! And u say they have no right to be here? Getting a little cocky now aren't you? Who really has the right to be here hmmm? Do the pandas at the zoo have to go back to China because they weren't born here? Did you pass the 6th grade? I'm pretty positive since I actually have to go to school 5 days a week that there is no "dumbing down" and I'd like to see you come into my physics class for a week and get some useful information into that (obv) tiny head of yours. I'm an American child Ray, enlighten me on how I am benefitting from your clearly absent minded ideas!

Hey: opinions are like... you know, everyone has one and it seems the majority shares mine. Who cares about your degree, you read a book and passed a test. You should know better titles like your bolster do not impress me. Yes I did passs the sixth grade thank you from a school system we joked about but in retrospect, I learned more than children learn today. Our children can't find their home on a map and by slowing down the class to teach basicially Forrest Gumps, "our" children suffer than eggheads like you demand even more money. Since you love your job, take a pay cut otherwise quit carping, people are just plain boo koo tired and just can't afford educating other nations problems. Nuff said!
