CAMP PENDLETON - An estimated 7,500 gallons of sewage spilled this morning at the intersection of Teamwork St. and Training Street on USMC Camp Pendleton.

The spill, which authorities said was caused by a blockage in a manhole, started at 7:30 a.m. and was brought under control at 9 a.m. when crews from the USMC Camp Pendleton facilities maintenance department removed the blockage.

I'm sure 7,500 gallons is nothing compared to what our neighbors to the south pump into the Pacific.

that's awful

Any sewage spill is frowned upon for obvious reasons. At least by me. Compared to the amount in the link I provided below, 7500 gallons is relatively small. The link is about the "Christmas time spill" which occurred in Temecula and involved the Murrieta Creek. The Murrieta Creek just happens to drain into the Santa Margarita River.
