Thursday, January 14th, 2010. Issue 02, Volume 14. PALA – If fish is not your first choice but you enjoy sushi, Chef Thomas Feng at Pala Casino Spa & Resort’s Sushi Sake has created a one-of-a-kind Prime Rib Roll that is a delectable alternative for beef lovers. Shrimp tempura, asparagus, cucumber and avocado are placed in a rice bed and then wrapped. Before the roll is cut into 10 servings, it is topped with succulent prime rib of beef, which is seared to cook the beef. Then, it is dripped with room-temperature truffle oil and garlic chips. The result is a spicy, but mild, dinner or lunch entrée that offers unique taste sensations. A diner first Advertisement "Some guests are surprised to learn they can order a cooked, beef entrée at a sushi restaurant," says Feng. "But its popularity is increasing and whether you enjoy it with one of our sakes, a soft drink or hot tea, those taste sensations always come through." Sushi Sake is open daily for lunch and dinner at Pala Casino. For more information, visit
